Great location within walking distance to Bellas Artes theatre , shopping, dining and night life. The rooms and hallway looked exactly like photos in description , they are very nice , everything looked new and was very clean.

This hotel is a very cute boutique hotel. I stayed in the room with a balcony that had a view to the street which was nice. The hotel was very clean my room was comfortable. However the staff was very unprofessional. When I was trying to check out I had to wait for them to check my room. They even checked my dirty towels for stains. They got mad because I left some flowers in the room I could not take them to the airport.

The rooms where fairly modern but the rooms smelt very bad, we booked two king rooms, our room smelt so bad we couldn’t be in it, we couldn’t move rooms as they said there wasn’t any available (not sure that was true) and they kept pouring chemicals down the drains to help solve the smell which gave a temporary reprieve. When also complaining they offered a free breakfast. When at the front desk complaining other guests also where saying their rooms where smelly, the smell was so bad when leaving all our clothes and belongings smell of sewage and we’ve had to use laundry and dry cleaning at a high cost.

Mexico City's New Hidden Gem in Centro Historico

A friend stayed at Hotel Bellas Artes about a month ago and recommended the hotel to me. I had reservations at the Zocalo Central, but I changed it and I'm glad I did. I was very surprised with the modern updates to this historic building. The rooms vary in size. Ours was small, but we had enough space. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. You may want to consider ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and have a room facing the street. It didnt bother us, but I know some people are light sleepers. The hotel has a terrace with lots of potential in the future. I hope they do something amazing up there. My only complaint was around communication before my arrival. The day before I arrive I received an email from the hotel stating they would send me an email with a link so I can secure my stay with a deposit of one night only. This was strange because I've never had to do this before, but I said ok. The email never came and was nervous because I didnt know what to expect when I arrived. However, I initiated a call to the hotel where I spoke with someone at the front desk who ensured there was no problem with not having the deposit ahead of time. If there is one thing I would change about my experience is this because the last thing a traveler wants to deal with is broken communication with the hotel and not knowing if you will have a room or not upon arrival. The hotel restaurant was also really nicely renovated and the food was very good.

Beautiful decor in the rooms, brand new hotel, in a top location. Metro, shops, restaurants and bars just a short walk away. Free minibar a nice touch. Would love to know why I had to wait/hold on for 5 minutes at check out. Expected to drop keys and go with a prepaid reservation.

Beautiful just a minor issue

The hotel was beautiful and very centrally located. The ammenities were great and over all an excellent stay. My only complaint is that the AC in the room where my elderly parents were staying was not working. It was a very hot weekend during our stay with temperatures in the high 80s into 90s. We let staff and maintenance know the same day we arrived, they sent someone to check and said it was working fine. Even though the AC was set at 60f, it didn't cool at all. Informed the staff again the next day and they continously told us the AC was already checked and working. By the third day we told them again and asked they check it again but were told it was functioning, even though clearly it was not. I asked to have my parents moved to a different room but was told no because the AC was fine. The entire stay, that room felt like it was a sauna. Other than that, everything was great.
