The hotel was better than we were expecting. The boutiques style room was comfortable and served its purpose for a one night stopover. Good price. would recommend.
No parking only down road a bit far if you can’t walk far or disabled
also stairs very steep
and too many lorries turning up at 5am for deliveries and people screaming and shouting late at night from 2 public houses down the road and to top it all from 7am Monday and Tuesday morning young school children waiting for restaurant Haystack to open for school club the hotel itself is excellent condition very high specification finish very clean condition no hot water till 8am
Howfield is a personal favourite of ours, it's such a nice, clean place with great value for money. The restaurant next-door is also a great plus, never had any issues from the current construction happening to the buildings next-door either!
Absolutely lovely place. Stayed twice once in the deluxe room with freestanding bath and again in a double room. Looking to stay again late August/September when I visit the Brecon Beacons again.
Well appointed rooms, with excellent quality fittings, large TV and a good quality bed. Simple contactless check-in with friendly communication. Perfect
The shower area was great. The room was comfortable. All nicely done. The area it was in is up and coming.
There is no elevator, so if you are in rooms 5,6,7 or 8 plan on going up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. Parking is close by.
Very noisy outside. Motorbike speeding up pedestrian mall, noisy youths outside until 11-30 pm. Not easy to find. Parking lot they recommend was full, not a single space free as it is also for the rail station. No fridge in room, no bottled water. Not what I expected as someone who travels extensively. Room is small, bathroom tiny, everything is very modern and clean though.
The room of the hotel was beautiful and decorated to a high standard and very resonanbly priced for the quality.
My only criticism is that there was no towels supplied so was quite in shock when i took a shower to have nothing to dry myself with. i was not sure if this was an oversight as a bathroom mat was supplied and also shampoo, condition and shower gel. Worth the price paid as lots of add ons to use sky tv and tea and coffee!
Good location for us. Very comfortable brilliant shower. The night storage heating kept me up until I realised the noise was coming from there then turned it off. ( not needed room was very hot) would definitely stay again
Modern and well furnished property at a great price. Check in instructions were precise and clear. I stayed on the top floor and both nights there was a loud hum (sounded like extract fan runs 24/7) though I didn’t take this up with management. I’d stay again. But would probably request a different room due to the noise mentioned.
