The shoreline is open and allows for easy fishing from shore. This stretch of the river is best known for its excellent musky and smallmouth fishing. My kids commonly catch 18+ inch smallies from shore, but its the river and we catch just about everything including smallmouth bass, northern pike, musky, walleye, bluegill, bullheads and suckers.
If you are looking for a local guide fishing service, I would recommend using Kurt Schultz @ Kurt's Guide Service. He knows this stretch of the river very well and will put you on fish regardless of your experience level.
