We arrives at the hotel and a few problems came up. First, they wanted to charges us for the room when it was already paid. We didn’t get the room we paid for. There was a wedding that was playing VERY loud music. They should consider sound proofing their windows. I asked for a wine bottle opener and I e but they wanted to charge me for the ice. The hotel is beautiful but the neighborhood is not the best.
Overall, a very bad experience for a first class hotel.
i requested a receipt, invoice upon leaving the place..they didnt supply me with one..they said they would email me one..a week and a half later i have not received a receipt..can you (Expedia) help me obtain a receipt, invoice for my stay there?
The Hacienda was great!! I love the place; however, the location was not great for us because it was in the south side of Mérida which looked isolated and there were no restaurants or shops or a way to walk around outside of the hotel. We canceled the second night and went to the north side which is more tourist friendly. Overall it was a good place.
Stepping into this place is like stepping into an oasis of solitude and quiet. The whole property is beautiful. The buildings are stunning. Be sure and eat at the restaurant - may have been the best food we ate on our whole trip. Just wonderful!
Lovely hacienda with extensive hotel grounds, there are several pools and staff on hand to help with anything you need, the grounds are very quiet and somewhat dark at night. They do have a 10pm curfew or they close the front gates but you can call and request it stay open.
Clean and not what was expected for the area. The front desk lady was judgmental and rude and the onsite restaurant workers had better things to do than attend me in a reasonable time, I ended up walking out.
Large, beautiful grounds with spacious rooms. At check-in we were told not to flush toilet paper down the toilet and to put it in the trash cans. Every day from 6-7pm they spray the Hacienda with bug spray so they advise you stay in your room. The smell seeps inside so if that bothers you, don't stay in your room. Our cousin got married at the Hacienda so we stayed there, and it was completely booked. They frequently ran out of beer, fruit, and items on the menu and I think it was because they are not used to accommodating so many people. It takes 15 mins for a cab to arrive, and it's a 30 minute drive into town. The area outside the Hacienda seems very poor. There is only one restaurant, but everything we tried was delicious. I would highly recommend the restaurant. The staff is nice but timid and very soft spoken. The pool by the restaurant has good shade and you can order drinks and food there too. The spa looked amazing but we didn't try it. We all got tons of bug bites even with bug spray. There was a small lizard in one of the drawers in our room. There is only a door to the toilet. The shower and bathroom is open to the rest of the room so there's no privacy there. Live music would be a nice touch. Overall, the Hacienda is very beautiful and we enjoyed our stay because the room was so charming and the AC was very powerful, the Hacienda was well maintained, the food was delicious and the pool was a great location for us all to hang out and relax.
I cannot recommend this property. We had numerous problems. Starting at check-in, they tried to charge us for a room that was already paid for via Expedia/Hotels.com. Then, the maid left the water faucet in the shower dripping, leaving a puddle that my wife almost slipped in. As she is recovering from knee surgery, this is egregious. The wait staff in the restaurant are not wait staff but rather young men hired off the street who have no training and no interest in being professional waiters. My wife has near native speaking ability in Spanish so communication from her end was articulate and bicultural. Another problem was the mosquito spraying. While they warned us to stay in our room, there is a hole in the door that allows the odor to come in. Not okay for my wife who has asthma. I cannot recommend this property even though it is quiet, peaceful and located only 30 minutes driving from Merida. Finally, not cleaning pool chairs of bird droppings is not one would expect at a venue that purports to be a four star hotel.
We had an amazing time! The property is an oasis of tranquility. The room was beautiful, and the dinners we had both nights were great. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. We had trouble with our rental car and they went above and beyond to help us. The pets they have made the stay all that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend it and would go back for sure!
Cerró restaurantes y todo servicio por la posible llegada del huracán Berly, retiro personal de limpieza y nos dejó a la buena de Dios. No pudimos tomar ni un café.
