Mentone Getaways "Mystic Hideaway" Cabin Rental

Mentone Getaways "Mystic Hideaway" is a romantic cabin for two near Mentone and Desoto State Park. This cabin features a king-size bed, a hot tub on the back deck , an electric fireplace, DISH satellite TV, ROKU streaming, DVD player and a VoIP telephone with free incoming and outbound calls to anywhere in the U.S. 48. The cabin is an all wood rustic cabin that offers the comforts of home for that perfect vacation or weekend getaway. This cabin offers privacy and is a honeymoon and anniversary favorite. There is a two night minimum stay on the weekend and holidays. 1 night stay is okay during the week as long as we have a turnaround time before the next guest arriving. We now have High Speed WIFI available for our guests.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Satellite programming and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. The bathroom has a jetted bathtub and a hair dryer.

Anniversary was perfect

We wanted a quiet stay and we got it! Place was nice well furnished dishes and grill fridge you pack groceries and you wouldnt have to leave. There are some good places to eat nearby though. House was cozy.

Pleasant trip

Very nice and private, cozy little cabin perfect for a couple. Others have said it needs updating and professional cleaning, but we enjoyed it as it was and so will you if you aren’t nit-picky! If it were updated and constantly professionally cleaned the rate would reflect that, it’s a more than fair rate for what you get. In deck Hot tub was awesome and the bathroom tub was a surprise. Directions were confusing at first but I found it on Apple Maps listed as a campground same name “Mystic Hideaway” so it took us right to it. Would certainly visit again! Thank you!

Toilet did not work when we arrived but my husband fixed it. The hot tub needs to be replaced. There were cob webs on the pictures and overall it just needed to be cleaned and updated.

Cute place but needs to be cleaner

There was hair all in the bed sheets, so we slept on top of the comforter for two nights.There’s cob webs in various places, and the floor was dirty.The place is surrounded by down trees and piles of brush all around.Loose boards on the steps going up to the bathtub, which had exposed plumbing.The hot tub was nice.This place could be great if it was cleaner inside and out. Needs a lot of renovation.We had a “problem-free” stay but this was not up to par with a lot of the other cabins we have stayed at for the same price.

The house has the potential of being great. There was lots of dust and even cobwebs. The coffee pot was in horrible condition because it was so dirty. Like I said, it has a lot potential. It just needs to be cleaned professionally.

The cabin is older and needs some work done to it. Kitchenware and utensils need to be updated. The unit had not been cleaned very well when I arrived. There were cobwebs inside the cabin and the glasses had to be washed before they were used. However, the owner was quick to respond when I reported a leak at the kitchen sink.

We had a great stay. Internet worked fine as well as texting iPhone to iPhone. I would bring extra towels but other than that we had what we needed and will stay again.

Not to be overly critical, but the property has been neglected. Siding needs stain, lots of old dust, clusters of wiring and old equipment, rotten wood on privacy fence, dirty outdoor furniture, junk tossed in the backyard, vinyl floors are warped, spongy bathroom floor, old hot tub in bathroom with multiple plumbing lines, etc. The leather furniture very comfortable, location is great and quiet.

Relaxing Anniversary Weekend

A perfect place for me and my husband and our 2 dogs to unplug and enjoy each other. Very private and easily accessible. A short drive to waterfalls, nearby shops, state park, and some really good restaurants. You are near Mentone and Fort Payne so either is an option. We very much enjoyed and will be back!
