Beautiful hotel for a staycation with excellent amenities provided in the room. Great location, as we don't normally venture that end of Melbourne. Great breakfast. Staff was always friendly and professional.
I think this could be the best place I have ever stayed. From the friendly staff on arrival, great coffee to the comfortable room. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We even got to sit in the sauna to warm up after going to the footy. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to stay here again.
Extremely convenient stay for a show at The Princess Theatre.
Great room. Very comfortable. Fabulous shower. Only very small issues to mention, as with a lot of hotel rooms, no extraction fan in the bathroom. Mirror constantly fogged and was annoying.
Very “tight” with coffee pods and teabags. Sometimes you may want more than just the one cup of tea/coffee and what, no biscuits!!
Staff at reception were excellent and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Wonderful stay for family of 5 in 2 adjoining rooms. Min'aa at check in went above and beyond to accommodate us. Had superb in room dining experience too. Great location with views to gardens and Parliament House. Kids enjoyed the pool.

The stay was fantastic with premium features and good room decor. The only negative points were the view from the room and the parking.
Even though we stayed at the 10th floor, and the view of the Parliament building was good, however, just outside what you look at are the mobile towers.
The biggest disadvantage was the parking. We were told to self park our car to save on the parking charges. However, we end up paying almost the same amount as the parking resets at 4 AM. So someone parking the car late at 10 PM and checking out at 10 AM in the morning, will be paying for two days. When you have such a big hotel and are charging such a price, it is advisable that you offer valet parking at subsidised cost instead of charging $75 per day.
This is what the former Metro and The Palace niteclub was turned into. There is no trace of what it used to be except for the facade. All the heritage features are gone as is the Marble staircase (although there is marble in the foyer that's possibly from the former staricase)
Hotel wise it is a fantastic hotel. Modern, clean, excellent staff, excellent coffee and room service. The roof top pool is amazing. Valet parking is available at the hotel but we foind it just as easy to park across the road for $30 for 24 hours.
