Room is clean but dated, beds were not very comfortable and toilet acted up not only in our room but our friends. We booked and requested adjoining rooms even had it confirmed by phone but when we checked in we were a few doors downs which I find irritating since I worked in the Hotel industry for years and our booking was early week for a few days- very quiet. We thought of staying longer but not being adjacent rooms changed our minds. We have stayed there quite often and during Casino renovations the hotel side needs a lot of help. Being clean was the only reason we stayed. We used to get little treats and/or a nice greeting when we checked in, but front desk crew were uninviting. Will think again of other places if they do not improve - not asking for much.

This place is so outdated and needs a complete renovation. The breakfast was disappointing and disgusting. Since I had to eat early and leave before the rest of my family, I told them to go somewhere else to eat. I was basically only there for a total of 12 hours and most of that time was spent sleeping.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a hotel that feels abandoned by time, maintenance, and possibly the laws of physics, the Medicine Hat Lodge is your place. The lobby looks fine, but the moment you enter the hallways, the illusion dies: peeling wallpaper, stained carpets, and a musty/mildewy smell that should come with a lung health warning. Our room was a time capsule of disappointment — ripped bedding, ancient sagging mattresses, tiny sad pillows, dim lighting, and a heater controlled by a dial like a 1970s science experiment. The bathroom? A horror scene featuring thick green timescale and “non-slip” circles that absolutely do slip. The water park felt borderline unsafe: rusty supports, shaking slides, missing bulbs, and of course, no working hot tub. Even entering the building was a challenge since the main sliding doors don’t work, forcing guests to squeeze through one door — good luck if you use mobility aids. Communication was difficult, maintenance was nonexistent, and the entire place needs a renovation, a deep clean, and maybe an exorcism. Until then, I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys comfort, safety… or breathing.

Our room was very dated, lots of damage to carpet and doors. The room smelled like a litter box and the shower had hair in it. When asked if they had a different room we were told no but they would send housekeeping up to spray febreeze. Poolside rooms are extremely noisy as well.
