Our 4 season cottage is situated 400m from beautiful Lake Winnipeg and offers year-round enjoyment for families looking for a getaway! Our 3 bedroom cottage has large windows looking out towards the lake area offering beautiful scenery year-round. The front of the cottage includes a kitchen/dinning room, living room and access to the screened-in sunroom. Bedroom one has a queen bed, bedroom two has a bunk bed (full and twin beds), and bedroom three has a twin bed. All bedrooms have ample closet space. There is a hide-a-bed couch in the living room.

The cottage is fully equipped with an electric fireplace, forced-air gas furnace, air conditioning, an ample hot water tank, 3 piece bath, enclosed sun room and a laundry room. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware, coffee pot, kettle, toaster and microwave. Complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water are available for your use. We offer free Wifi and a have a smart TV to watch all your streaming services. There are board games, books and magazines to enjoy. There is a DVD player with a selection of movies and TV shows.

An oversized single garage is available for use to store water craft, bikes, etc., in the summer and ice fishing equipment in the winter. The garage is stocked with yard games such as ladder ball, crocket and badminton. There are soccer, volleyball and basketballs, tennis racquets and tennis balls. There are four bikes to use and a wagon to transport whatever you need to the beach!

Close to all amenities such as Julia's restaurant, Matlock Village Junction store and the Whytewold Emporium restaurant and boutique. Access to the beautiful beaches, the walkable piers to the lake, a 7 minute drive to historic Winnipeg Beach and a 20 min drive to the town of Gimli. Across the road from the cottage at the Dunnottar Community Club there is an incredible children's playground for all to enjoy.

This quiet community comes to life in the summer (beaches, tennis and basketball courts, cycling all throughout the village of Matlock, walking and hiking), and offers a peaceful winter retreat with groomed cross-country and snowmobile trials. Lake Winnipeg's ice fishing is world renowned!

The beaches of Lake Winnipeg offer lots to entertain during the summer months. Board Walk days at Winnipeg Beach (July), Saturday nights live bands at Winnipeg Beach throughout the summer, Gimli's International Film Festival (July) and Icelandic Festival (August) are must to visit! The Arnes Market (Saturday and Sunday, all summer) is a great place to enjoy local artisans and food!

Our cottage is quick get away from city life, only 45 minutes from the north perimeter of Winnipeg to the beaches of Lake Winnipeg. We offer a peaceful, family-oriented cottage, so if you are looking to play loud music or throw parties, please keep looking. We value our neighbours privacy as well!

Perfect Little Sojourn

What a lovely 4 days we had here! The cabin is bright, spacious, comfortable and spotless. We really enjoyed everything that was offered: games, DVDs, Netflix, all appliances worked very well which I am always grateful for. We also used the 3 bikes which allowed us to explore along the Dunnottar Trail and opened up this special area even more. My son and husband made use of the tennis rackets on the court just down the street. We would absolutely stay here again!

Comfortable and Quiet Getaway Cottage

Our stay was great! Such a lovely cottage with very tasteful furnishings, lots of storage, and roomy for our family of four adults. There were places to go read, like the sunroom, decks, while others could watch TV or prepare a meal. The approx. 1 km walk to the beach gave good daily exercise. We appreciated having laundry facilities. Of course, the A/C during our 30+C weather was wonderful. We would definitely consider this cottage in the future.

A great experience

The cabin was just as described. Very clean and well-maintained. Lots of space. The hosts were communicative and helpful. We were impressed by the many extras provided - games, books, supplies. The cabin is close to the beach - a very nice, but not too busy beach. Winnipeg Beach and Gimli are short drives away. Our granddaughters absolutely loved the nearby playground, which we felt was nicer than most we have seen in Winnipeg. They played there every day (even the one-year old).

Great get away

We had a really nice stay at this cabin. As a family of five , it’s difficult to find a nice cabin that can accommodate us all at a good price. The cabin was clean, and well maintained . Had everything we needed and more . We loved that they had extra items like tennis rackets , and balls, and a kayak that we could play with. The area had lots of places to venture to. We Would highly recommend anyone to stay here for a nice get away from the city ! Thank you again !
