Enjoyed our visit at Hotel Paisano. Elevator was out of commission. My wife felt the toilet was not cleaned well. But it’s a beautiful property. And staff was great.
When we checked in they put us on the 2nd floor. The hotel is only 2 floors. I asked where the elevator was so we could haul all our bags up. They said the elevator was not finished being installed. I looked at the elevator and it had a note on it that said Spring of 2025 to be completed. This is the tail end of Spring 2025 someone should tell them.
The next morning when we were hauling the luggage down I asked the Maids what's the deal with the elevator. They rolled their eyes and replied that the contractor had been working on it for 2 years. Two years! This is a small elevator that is intended to go up one floor. How stupid. Time for a new contractor.
The restaurant which is only one of two in Marfa could not give you a dinner time because they said they were down2 servers on the wait staff. The restaurant is only open for dinner. No coffee shop for breakfast nor is there anywhere for lunch.
The building is sort of iconic but they could do so much more.
Marfa is a bust. None of the galleries open till after noon and they advertise that is if they feel like it. They request that you email them to set up an appointment to view their gallery.
We intended to stay 2 night but instead got out of Marfa and went to Terlingua where we had a great time and great accommodations. We won't be back to Marfa ever!
Very small room and bathroom. Old and not well kept. Bed was comfortable.Toilet was loose and wobbled. Shower was clogged and dirty. It looked like they were in the middle of unclogging the tub and forgot the hair they pulled out and just left it on the walls. Had to shower in standing water. Informed front desk twice and it was never handled. Very noisy hallways. You hear everything. People talking and going in and out of the rooms. Was not worth the money spent.
We came here for our 26th wedding anniversary. We enjoy going to historic hotels. The grounds and building was beautiful. Check in and house keeping were great the room was great with patio and fireplace which we used. The only negative was when went to our dinner at the Jett Grill, which we booked online. The girl there was very condesending and said we didnt have a rezervation and we must have done it wrong or booked the wrong day. Though it was not busy and no problem with us getting a table . She made us feel like it was a problem. Then when she made our drinks she left ours sitting there forever on the bar, waiting for our server, instead of bringing it to us. The server, Derick, was great. He apologized even though we told h8m ut wasnt his fault. He gave us excellent service, and ket trying to make up for her cause he knew we were a little upset. Then my husband tried to get drink from the machines later and it wouldnt take bills. He went to desk for change and was told, it doesnt work anyway. He could have offered to get him soda from the bar or kitchen. But no. Other than that stay was good.

It was good, which is compatible with our expectations.
This place is outstanding. Great staff. Staying there is like stepping into the movie set of Giant.

Dated hotel..
We were disappointed in our stay…hotel is very dated and plays off the idea of “historic charm” due to a movie Giant, filmed there in 1965. Bedroom and bathroom are very small, very dated. We had to move rooms because our TV didn’t work and just were not impressed with the property.

Hotel Paisano visit
Nice staff but hotel is in need of lots of renovation. Bathrooms are very tiny, bath linens are fraying, management needs to sink some money into making it nice again.

Stayed on upper floor. No elevator.
No ice machine on our floor.
No breakfast although there is a full kitchen.
Dumpster pickup out side our window 5:30 am.
Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to gic eus early check in. It’s a beautiful historic hotel, we considered the other newer hotel downtown in town, but were so glad to go with Hotel Paisano as the other hotel looked like it could be anywhere in the world.
