Goldfields Cottage- in historic town

Rustic rural escape. Private, fully self contained, 15 min walk to shops and cafes. Once a traditional miners' cottage, now a cozy and comfortable getaway. This cute cottage has been restored to provide modern comfort and style whilst retaining the essence of the traditional miner's cottage.
Inside, the house is light filled and sunny. A comfortable lounge-dining area is decorated with a mix of vintage, modern and antique items. Interesting art works and artifacts add to the individual and eclectic atmosphere. A country style kitchen equipped with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and a range of cook books caters for your culinary interests. A charming reading/writing room has attractive sunny outlook.
Outside, the cottage sits in a pretty, semi rural setting, with views, lawn, a cottage garden with herbs and vegetables, fruit trees and our own honey bees. It is just a short stroll to the historic town classified by the National Trust. Cafes, pubs, antique and collectible shops, home-wares and craft shops beckon. Relax and enjoy the ambience of this cute cottage and charming, historic town. Check in 2pm Check out 11am.

The cottage was thoughtfully presented and very attractive. Much reading matter related to the area was provided. We loved the outdoor chairs and tables - perfect for reading and relaxing with a cup of tea in the open air. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the electric blankets.

What a lovely place to spend a winter weekend. There is a wood burner and the loungeroom was cozy in the evenings as a result.The kitchen is equipped with all you couuld possibly need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen windows afforded us a lovely view0 of the local kangaroos and bird life, D 34000both in the morning and at dusk.The cottage was in a lovely location, qlking distance to town but just far enough away to be peaceful.The beds were very comfortable and had electric blankets, and the shower was hot and had good pressure.Our hosts were very kind and responsive and even provided us with a complementary bottle of red wine. We would definitely suggest that you book some time there, soon!

Beautiful Miners Cottage

Goldfields cottage was our accomodation while visiting Maldon for a friend's 50th Birthday celebration in the middle of winter. The cottage was warm and cosy with attention to lots of the small details that made our stay wonderful. Communication with the owner was excellent and we couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommended!

Loved the historic town and surrounds. The cottage is what it says an historic cottage. Gayle was great and helpful and generous. All was great apart from the dust etc but it’s an old old cottage.

Maldon Relax

We really enjoyed 3 nights at the cottage, although the power was off one day it was not a problem as all needs were available on gas. The cottage is beautifully presented with a great array of cooking & interesting books & magazines. Beds are comfortable & everything is very tidy & clean. Gayle was a great host & overall the peacefulness of the location & wildlife at your doorstep it is certainly a place to revisit. Robert & Loretta.

Quirky lovely cottage

A minors cottage is what exactly what we expected, quirks and all, and it didn’t disappoint. The kitchen and bathroom was very clean and the various art and furniture was interesting to look at. It can be cold as it’s winter, the hosts stocked us up with firewood each day which kept us warm. Hosts were very obliging.

Had a very cosy stay at this classic goldfields cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated and felt so homely and exactly what I wanted out of my stay. Loved having the fire but also having the reverse cycle heater - was kept very warm!! Beautiful wildlife everywhere and very peaceful.

Pleasant stay in the Goldfields.

This is a nice, old miners cottage in the Goldfields town of Maldon. It is an easy drive to both Castlemaine and Bendigo. The cottage is perfect for 2 or 3 people wanting to explore the area.

Golden haven

My husband and I spent three lovely days at Maldon cottage. It is a short walk from town, on Anzac Hill. The property is immaculate ,on a lovely block with trees and gardens . The bed and pillows are very comfortable,the lounge stylish and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is cofee maker and tea, jams and honey,milk and Anzac biscuits provided. There is a bright reading room which has views over the hills. The entire house is very clean,and we were very happy to stay in such well cared for home. Maldon is the most beautiful town ,full of history and charm. Thank you Gayle.
