Close to Reina Sophia Museum, wonderful bakery, large grocery store. All the basics were in kitchen. Apartment was clean. We were hoping for some instructions for using washing machine, emptying recycles, restaurant suggestions, transportation options/locations, highlights of neighborhood, as we have experienced with other rentals.

Great apartment in the lavipies neighborhood. Quick walk to the metro, grocery store and many good restaurants/bars. Hans, our host, couldn't have been better. Very responsive to any issues, we were here for a month. Very comfortable apartment, quiet, and had all the essentials.

Great location with most major attractions within walkable distance. Communication with the host, Valentina, is affective and pleasant. No quilt was provided in the apartment and I was told it is the norm in summer in Madrid to just provide bedspread instead. Not sure it is true or not but it is not comfortable at all.

It was the perfect size for my family of 4. Reason for the 4 stars is we did have a lot of maintenance issues with plumbing and hot water. Things happen that is understandable. Just was a lot of inconvenience without any compensation.

Great location

The apartment was located in a beautiful location in central Madrid. No need for a taxi from the train station or to most local sites. Easy access to local markets and restaurants. The communication with the property was easy and efficient upon checking in and out. Reminder that there is no lift. The Wi-Fi was spotty and the noises from inside this older apartment building was most noticeable. We felt welcomed and safe here which helped to make our trip to Madrid most memorable.

It was a clean and nice apartment. We stayed here as family of 4. It was walkable to Prado museum and Atocha station. It is very very close to Reina Sophia museum. The property owner , Hans was very nice and prompt to reply to my request. I requested early check-in and could check-in early. It was a big help to our family which had finished 9 hours flight overnight. Thank you, Hans.

Walking distance to the 3 big museums and main Renfe terminal (Atocha) and subway stops. Very near lively nightlife but that's in the back of the apartment so you don't hear it at all! Great overall.

Cute and Cozy

My family and I had a great stay, we were 4 adults and were very comfortable. The neighborhood was cute. We enjoyed breakfast at a little shop just a two minute walk away, we were able to attend mass at a church that was a three minute walk up the hill, the metro was a 6 min walk away, and everything else (major sights) were between 20 and 30 minutes walking. We felt safe at night and even though the neighborhood was quite alive in the evenings, it was nice and quiet in our apartment. Everything about the apartment was explained in detail upon our arrival. We would definitely recommend this as a spot to stay on your next trip to Madrid.

Lavapies Simplicidad

Valentina and Hans communicated with us well ahead of our visit and Valentina met us and went over the apartment. This was invaluable for foreigners unfamiliar with the radiant heating and trash rules. The bunk bed room and bedroom were sufficient for our needs. The neighborhood food and groceries were great and the location was great for access to the museums and Atocha station. Actually, getting around all of the city was way with Taxis and Uber. I can highly recommend this VRBO for these reasons.
