Needs freshening up

Positives: service was fast and friendly. Nicola was very helpful of where to visit in LUCERA and help with luggage. Breakfast pastries were fresh and coffee great. Negatives: the location is a10 minute car ride to town and nothing is around (except unfinished building). Landscaping needs to be cleaned up to give the look from the photos. Any noise in the building is noticeable in the room, even chairs moving and low voices. I picked because of the positives reviews, which I think are out of date.

Nice place. Pretty, polite and accommodating staff

I think it must be an Italian thing, but when I ask for 2 separate beds for 2 different people, why would ANYONE think it’s ok to put the 2 twin beds together and cover them both with one sheet set?!? 2 beds means 2 beds APART!

The decor was quiet and lovely, done in beige and white. Nicola could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It was helpful not to be in the center of town as we avoided the traffic and were able to easily visit the sites.

The Gem of Lucera and it regionsl treasures!

Absolutely Fantastic stay. The room was perfect. The dinner and wine were delicious and Francesco, the host was charming, and delightful. My wife has been intriguedznd called to exploing the history of the black madonnas as well as havjng curiosityaround ley lines. Wouldnt you know it...Francesco tells us of a black madonna located just 5 minutes from fhe hotel!! And then he startsrellibg ys sbout a key ley line point, kne of seven, is located next to the town we were heading to for my meetings. So thanks to Francesco, my wife got to visit a black madonna, Monte Sant Angelo And Padre Pio crypt. She was beyond surprisedand happy, which made me happy!! If you are in the area do yourself a favour, stay here, eat here and chat with Francesco. You never know what adventure ge may point you tkwards or revesl! Grazie tante!

The two hosts were just adorable. Good mood, magnificent welcome and you directly feel special. The rooms are spacious, well lit and very clean. Dinner was very good. What we did not like are just small details that will make this place more than perfect : There was a slight smell in the bathroom and the fridge did not work in the room. And, breakfast can be improved. Keep up the good energy, we will defintely come back !

Le Nicchie Guest House review

This family run boutique hotel is located just outside of the little town of Lucera. We had the room with the large outdoor deck. Having the deck added to the charm of the place. We brought our large 5 year old chocolate lab, and he made himself at home. He is very well trained and very comfortable around new people. Between the owner, Francesco and his son Nicola you will NOT find two more friendly and relaxed people. By all means plan on eating here as the food is great. I highly recommend staying here!

An amazing find...

We had an overnight stop here between Rome and Alberobello. What a find! Spacious rooms both with private balconies. Beautiful decor, soft stone, soft fabrics and very comfy beds. Great night sleep. Restaurant on site - similar prices to Rome but delicious and so convenient. Very welcoming family and staff. WiFi excellent. Plenty of parking. Thank you!

Visited as it had good reviews eg “a gem” however difficult to find even with GPS. Rooms small however we were offered another but declined as we only had 1 night. Gardens run down out side, breakfast limited. Owner very polite and recommended a very good wine with a delightful dinner.

Amazing

Driving from Alberobello we had planned on overnighting at Popoli but found nothing suitable So we drove on to Lucera and booked Le Nicchie just prior to arrival. This place is about 3km from Lucera amidst the farmland.There are 6 rooms and a Restaurant . Our room was absolutely fabulous, as was Dinner and Breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.

Our Guest House Visit

This was absolutely an amazing place, so beautiful. It was the nicest place we have stayed so far on our driving trip around southern Italy. We did have a little problem finding it even with the instructions Nicola sent us. Apparently other visitors did to. But once we got there it was well worth it. It had really wonderful decor and lighting. And a really big bathroom. We had dinner at there restaurant and it was fabulous. I had zucchini that was to die for. We can't say enough good things about the guest house or our host Nicola. It truely felt like we were in a guest house in a villa.

Oasis in Lucera

We stayed at the guest house for two nights in April 2017. We found it to be modern, well-equipped, and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the location was quiet. We ate at the guest house two nights and enjoyed high-quality meals each time. The owners/staff were very hospitable and helpful. Overall a nice oasis.

Elegant Retreat

This hotel is very modern and very nicely decorated. The restaurant and food is exceptional. There is a spacious balcony over looking the valley where you can enjoy a glass of wine.
