Reception area needs a make over

Used to stay at the Hatfied on a regular basis but this is the first visit for about 20 years. The entrance/reception area has not changed at all and on first appearances seems really neglected and off putting. But once in the hotel other areas are better; bar/ outside terrace, rooms were fine & clean.

1st room I checked onto was the size of a student dogs. Poor quality throughout and not worth the money. Reception changed the room, and whilst better was equally rum down. Could feel the springs in the bed which made for a rough night's sleep. Room was also extremely hot. Has the chicken gyro at dinner and sent it back, chicken was not cooked through. Overall the place is on dire need of an upgrade. I travel regularly and base my choice on the reviews, this place does not deserve anything near what is stated.

We stayed in a sea view room which had a lovely view of the sea, unfortunately because the temperature reached 28%c the room was very warm even with the windows open, so it really spoiled our stay here. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the food looked good. .

the only thing that stuck in my mind was at night when people walked pass the room the floorboards made a nose and it woke me up .apart from that the hotel was clean/ tidy staff were great all round good job willl come back again thank you.

Still keeping its charm

I always like staying at the Hatfield. Its been 15 years ive been staying and i just think its a lovely cheerful place to stay. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is good and the service is quick. The rooms are comfortable and warm. It reminds me of how hotels used to be, its like going back in time, in a good way. Well done to all keeping the Hatfield charming and warm.

Quiet seafront hotel.

Lovely clean room, comfortable bed. Seafront location, with parking just opposite. If you have mobility issues, worth mentioning, as several steps up and down in the corridor, leading to the bedrooms .

Very hospitable staff, especially Robert on the front desk. Very easy to find, very good parking and the hotels overall look is quite a nice one. My sea view room was like being in a bedroom of your very own and it was nice warm and cosy with the sound of the sea at the window. Breakfast was extremely nice, you alway expect a nice breakfast but this one exceeded my expectations. Overall a very good hotel and very nice stay, only critique I have and it’s not a big deal but I was on the first floor next to the stairs so a lot of foot traffic and you can hear pretty much everything on going on downstairs until the last person goes to bed or ends shift.

My bedroom 109 was I think above the kitchen so heard noises from the kitchen activities. The shower bifold door hinge was broken so the magnetic strips never worked in properly closing the shower doors. The room was comfortable with a single bed and we'll heated. The food was excellent, including the main meals and my 2 breakfasts. The kippers were to die for!...beautiful oily fish... wonderful way to start the day!! I would recommend the hotel and I would come again.

Nice food, room too hot!

Staff very friendly, breakfast was really good. Would have loved bigger portions for hot breakfast as so good. Room however was very hot, even after turning burning hot radiator off and opening window as much as we could. Could not turn bathroom radiator off so still kept room very warm.
