In need of an upgrade

Great location that is convenient to everything. But the room we had needed a major upgrade, especially the bathroom. Kitchenette was great, but there wasn't enough crockery or items to cook with. One fry pan, not enough plates for the number of guests were some of the things disappointing. The room was tidy and serviced well. Trying to check in wasn't the best as the reception wasn't open (and during office hours too), plus I was asked to pay for the room again - I'm guessing unaware of the Expedia process. The final issue was on our checkout day when the manager came in 30mins before checkout to see if they could clean the room. Not professional at all. Overall assessment is an average motel. A little overpriced for what you're getting, but if you're looking for somewhere that gives you the basics and a convenient location, then it ticks the boxes.

Handy Motel to Central Lower Hutt

The Motel is nice and closer to central Lower Hutt and the surrounding suburbs. It is also easy to drive to Wellington City from here. The room was clean and warm and the shower had great pressure. This is my third visit and I will be back.

Quite easy to find

Arrived a little early and had to move our vehicle several times. Electric blanket for my husband was unable to be used - no cord to reach plug. The oven external plugs to use microwave did not work. Told manager.

It’s quiet and very comfortable.

This is my third time staying there. This time I got a room inside. It’s quiet and sleeping very well. Great Wifi. Heater a bit smell. I think it will be better to have a little lamb. Stuffs was lovely. I think a pillow is too flat. So I use three or four pillows on that night. Others is great. Happy and it’s cheaper.

Close to Petone. Not sure about plumbing in bathroom! Heater was noisy. No place to plug in bed light till second night when powerbox provided. Quiet. OK stay.

I will surely be back to this motel 😁

Me & my family got to stay in one of the family apartments & we were so amazed that we got a great room for such a good price, especially when we had to look for a motel very last minute. The experience was amazing & so was the owner. The rooms were very tidy & warm. Stores were a drive away but that didn't bother us as we got to cruise through the streets of Lower Hutt and Petone. WiFi connection wasn't as strong but, other than that I enjoyed my time at Motel 22. I would highly recommend this place for any family to visit, I will surely be back again.

The is comfortable but is looking a bit shabby and could do with a bit of TLC. The oven although functional gave a lot to be desired. Beds and bedding clean and tidy

Nice hotel

Hotel was clean, and had all the amenities (minus a phone). It is a little distance away from shops and restaurants but overall it was a great place to stay.

Not Great

Very tired units. Bob Marley pillow not necessary. Wallpaper or covering coming off. Walked in and toilet cleanser on bench. Pillow terrible. Best thing was the shower pressure.

Disappointed that Whatif did not notify Motel i would be late arriving.Motel e mailed me on evening while i was travelling which was useless. Not Motel's fault . Otherwise grest.

Hotel aas nice annd clean. Beds were fairly comfortable. Owner upgraded our room as I did not realize thast the booking I made was for a room with no kitchen and we had a baby we needed to make food for. Id definitely stay again.

TWO STAR MOTEL

The bed was comfortable. The owners wanted to be helpful but lacked ENGLISH. I suspect they have little or no past experience operating a motel in NZ and need lots training. Paint, decor recently upgraded? In good condition, but needs modern renovation. no shower gel, only a soap with no place in shower to put other than on the floor ...to slip on! Empty hell holders. Small wall heater needed full power to reach comfortable warmth...then stay on.
