The main girl at the front desk was absolutely disrespectful several times as the state that I was there for this time did include some rainy days and nights, and a backpack a brand new backpack that was red was soaked in the rain and some of the Red transferred over to the sheet to which she took every single opportunity that she could to harass my fellow traveler about a fee, and she demanded this money daily with no concern that it came across his harassment. He’s just trying to enjoy his time here and planned on paying the fee once he was shown the sheets in question. She refused to show the sheets and Yune unfortunately.

Staff at checkin friendly, efficient and helpful. Private room with balcony was good, clean, comfy enough. We did not enjoy any of the great sounding amenities though. Plenty of event options. Only downside was no hot water an hour before check out. Thankfully we were headed home and a shower was not a requirement.

For what this place charges compared to LA standard, I’d say it’s better than a motel. The place is a HUB of artists, and out of area volunteers in exchange for hostel stay. I love that they have activities between the West Hollywood and the Hollywood facilities most nights. It’s different. It feels more like a community. Don’t expect a hotel. Think more like college dorm feel. Breakfast has good choices, and generous serving, giving you upto three items on the choices. It’s just lacking presentation but they have all necessities—toaster, coffee, tea, instant oatmeal, yogurt, bread and spread options, fruits. Volunteers and staff are friendly and they keep the place clean. Jude took my husband to a run/jog up Runyon Canyon hill which is a good 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs loop with beautiful views.

I noticed there were TWO addresses, so I called ahead. I asked, “Am I staying at this address or the other?” The person who answered the phone was very short with me. “yes it’s this address, you are here.” I drive 3 hours in the rain to get there. I am THRILLED that the parking is inside, clean and gated. YAY!! I go into the office, and am told, “You are not listed here.” How can this be? “I called ahead to verify?!” I am asked, “Where are you going?” I explain I’m here for a film screening, and the guy says, “Oh that is really close to here” and then another guy steps up and says, “Oh! Sorry I was short with you when you called, you can just stay here, we have the same room open.” So now I know I’m closer to the venue, I’m planning on taking an Uber to, so I am eager to stay where the parking is so safe, too. Plus, I’m tired and hungry. “Oh, I see that you already paid with Expedia, so we can’t move you here. Sorry.” Meanwhile the guy who said I WAS staying there said nothing more and did not help at all. Then they tell me that the other location is 20 minutes away and now my Uber cost will be higher and no one tried hard to help at all. Just a quick, “Oh well, sorry.” PLEASE fix it so either location works to switch if this happens to others. It’s a good deal with hostel-like benefits and a groovy student dorm vibe. The other hotel has no gate on the underground parking but was well lit on camera. The room was okay, loud bathroom fan. Helpful staff there.
