It started when I first checked in on Friday, the woman who helped me expressed her dissatisfaction about a previous guest. She told me a long story about how she didn't abide by the rules; stating that the woman may have snuck in a private guest and hid this by putting bed sheets over the window. I felt like it was too much information, but then she stated, "You know how your people are." which I felt was extremely ignorant. Saturday morning around 11:15am, I heard movement and cleaning going on outside my door; I figured it wouldn't last too long. Someone knocked and before I could open the door, he opened the door two seconds after he knocked. Luckily, I had the privacy latch on so he couldn't barge in. However, why was it so important for you to come in my room to tell me your cleaning the door? You couldn't call? When I opened the door, a man stated he was going to clean the floor and outside my room including my motel door. He did not have on a uniform like the other hotel attendants and when he started spraying water, the floor inside my room was soaked with water and dirt. When I was about to leave to get food about an hour later, he was still out there, this time with a motel attendant stating they had to NOW come inside to clean the air conditioner unit. I asked was this necessary and could it wait? Why do this when a guest is staying here? This couldn't wait until I checked out? I asked how long this was going to take and he stated 15 minutes and it had to be done.

My husband adamantly requested I leave a positive review for this hotel we stayed in after his very pleasant interaction with the guy who checked us in. It was a nice, clean room. Close enough to LA to be convenient but far enough away to not be loud/in the middle of traffic.

I stayed at Rosemead Motel based on online reviews. I was traveling from the Bay Area and didn’t arrive until around 8:40 PM. Despite receiving two phone calls about my estimated arrival time, which I explained, the front desk still gave me a hard time for arriving "after hours." After a 7.5-hour drive, that was definitely not a great first impression. The room appeared clean at first glance, but it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. The smoke detector didn’t even have a battery, and its cover was open, which made it obvious. Housekeeping never emptied the trash during my stay, so I’m assuming they didn’t come by daily like they said they would. On the second night, I was asked, along with the other party I was traveling with (who had their own room), to move our trucks because they were short on parking. They wanted us to park farther away and stack our vehicles one behind the other. I didn’t comply, as I had parked directly in front of my room for convenience and safety. The AC only worked on the first night, and the pillows felt like they were meant for toddlers—small and uncomfortable. All the issues I’ve mentioned are basic expectations for any motel stay, so I left feeling short-changed.
