Disappointing swimming pool - room okay

Family of 4, cramped room with 2 roll out beds taking all floor space. Breakfast was good, no queuing which was a nice change to some recent stays. Hotel bar/restaurant, very busy. We decided to go off site as it wasn’t what we wanted as a family. Slow service for drinks also. My main issue is how the hotel is sold as having a swimming pool. This is true, however be aware children are only allowed in at certain times of the day and you would expect the pool to be open during these times however there is always 2 thirds of the pool taken up by swim lanes. Then the final third was crammed full of families. Although this was even more crammed when the water aerobics was on which left the remaining pool about 1/6 free for children. It was clear the members did. It want the guests in and around the leisure facilities. I assume equally as frustrated as the families. The hot tub was also broken during our stay which was annoying.

Bedroom was a reasonable size with a small hard bed, it felt like the bathroom was in the room. When we arrived we checked beforehand the restaurants on the website. Last orders for food were 930 we arrived at 920 on a friday night, kitxhen was closed. Couldnt even get ketchup for a takeaway we had delivered. In the morning woken up by the air ambulance across the car park. This went on theough the early hours of the morning. We woke up in the morning to loud voices outaide our room, it was the cleaners. They even entered our room thinking we had checked out. The proceeded to ahout down the hallway, there was someone in the room. We got up and had a below average breakfast and chaecked out. We will not use this hotel again.

Nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff. Nice big pool for kids. The pub and grill restaurant downstairs did really tasty veg and fish options. Was a good location about 50 mins drive to durdle door and lulworth cove really worth seeing.
