I had heavy bags and my room was on the 4th floor. Staff would not help me carry them upstairs. I had to store my bags in the morning—they had no way of storing them except in a big heap in the lobby. It did not feel secure at all.

Location. Service. Value for money

Nearby Paddington station is perfect location, full of restaurants, shops and connections to anywhere, 20 min away from Heatrow (use Heathrow Express trains). The hotel is a tipycal UK building, avoid it if you have issues using the stairs, rooms can be in ground floor, basement or up to 3 floors up. Anyways the stuff helped us in all cases with the lugagge. Our was in basement and was great cause we had an internal yard. Beds and pillows comfortable, staff super kind, there is a Nespresso machine in commor area (paid capsules, but free milk, hot/ cold water and cups). Toilet and shower inside room. All hotel was renovated, classic style. Rooms are small, this is very common in Central London. Amy, the recptionist was super kind, everyone in the hotel is actually. I would definitely come back, we felt safe, had all we needed, online pictures are exactly the same as you'll see when you arrive. very good choice having paid around 150 pounds per night. Thanks!

The noise and vibrations from the underground trains was very disturbiing and was enough to shake the bed , didnt get much sleep. However staff were polite, room was clean and comfortable with good location to station

Cute hotel with excellent staff. Close to Paddington station, clean room, renovated bathroom. Nice stay...coffee not provided in room but available at stations on each floor. Staff very conscientious about security.

Disappointing stay, would not recommend

We were very disappointed with our stay! Firstly, to get into bed we had to walk through a slim gap with a sharp mantelpiece sticking out which we bumped into multiple times resulting in injury. The bed was very uncomfortable, the room lacked basic facilities such as cups in the bathroom or tea and coffee facilities. We would not recommend staying here.

Stayed for six nights in July 2025, the best thing about the property was the location. It’s a three minute walk to Paddington Station(which has good food option, especially for grab and go breakfasts) which allows you to access all parts of London, Heathrow, Gatwick, everything that’s on your bucket list, Big Ben, the tower of London, Wimbledon, we went all the way to Portsmouth and it was a snap. We had a room overlooking the park in front and it was great. If you’ve never been to London, this is a really good spot to make a start and see what London is.

Booked after a flight delay and needed to be close to Paddington station. Very quick check in, comfy bed, clean room. Nice price. Cheaper option is you share a bathroom. Only comment is the rooms at the rear are above a tube station which is a little noisy especially if the window is open. Will happily stay at this property again.

St David Hotel

The room was basic and extremely noisy due to the rail lines running beneath and the people from other rooms all throughout the night. The cleaners gathered at 8am outside the bedroom window. Found it hard to get hot water in the shower. No door on the 2nd bedroom that had poor ventilation as it was a cupboard with a bed. The fan in the main room was a god send.

This hotel was within a 5 minute walk of Paddington station, so it was very convenient. There were many food and dining options (restaurants), and there were also 3 grocery stores at Paddington station. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. In terms of cons, the room was extremely hot because it did not have air conditioning, so we needed to keep the window open and fan on at all times. The room was very small, but this is the case with most London hotels. The room did not have shampoo and conditioner, instead it had a combined body soap and hair wash. As well, they did not supply bar soap. Note that the hotel is not updated with a keycard system, so they give you a physical key to your room which they require you to leave at the front desk whenever you leave the building. The room also did not have a “do not disturb” sign. If you have safety concerns, I would recommend locking your luggage before leaving the hotel for the day.

An excellent stay for our first time visiting London! Staff was kind and helpful and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. We had a lovely time and were happy to find how easy it was to travel around the city from the hotel’s ideal location right down from Paddington. Good location for Paddington

Good location for Paddington, room as described, very clean, no aircon, which would have been nice, but description was clear that there wouldn’t be any, just bad luck that it was hot when I stayed! 4th floor with luggage might be a struggle for elderly as no lift and quite narrow/steep staircase
