Exceptional hotel for price+location

Found it to be exceptional quality of hotel I would expect for the area/star rating of hotel/price. It was clean, quiet, pleasant. No frills but nothing bad or concerning either. I come to London 4 times a year, and would certainly stay here again.

Good for solo traveler and the deep sleeper

The service was great but the bed was uncomfortable and small at all , you can’t sleep because you hear any one open the door or walking or going up or down the stairs in the hotel. The location was great

Beware

A picture is worth a thousand words - see attached photos: curtain so dirty it is grey instead of white, broken shower doors and dirty shower, hole in comforter, frayed window cord, broken bathroom tile, shattered window pane with ladder, hose, equipment 2 feet outside. We did not capture the stained carpet, the sewer smell, no ventilation, or the noise. We asked for hand towels and location of an ice machine; we were told, "We don't have either. Hotels in London are not like hotels where you come from."

London 2 night stay

room was very small, as was the bathroom, only facilitating one person/ 1 suitcase ( which I was,) no ventilation or heat. However it was clean, fairly quiet & reasonably priced. It,s star attraction is the location without which you would just not stay there.

Good location, close to Paddington main railway station, Tube and bus service. Friendly staff, very clean, good Wi-Fi. On a down side no lift, we were on the top floor we were ok but if you struggle with the stairs I recommend you state this when booking I feel the hotel staff would try their best to accommodate you. The person in charge offered to carry our cases to the room on arrival. I would definitely stay at this Hotel again.

Great location, good staff and had a nice comfy bed. The bathroom extractor fan didn't work and the shower made enough noise to wake the dead, but other than that it was fine. If you've got an early train it's perfect.

Smelly old rooms

For the price they charge for one night they didn’t meet expectations. Unclean, smelly and run down hotel. Only central location is positive. No lifts so you’ll struggle taking your luggage up, if it’s heavy.

Most of the staff were very welcoming. If you are in London for a day or two and if you are not a high maintenance person , you should be able to stay comfortably.The only problem was wifi .The connection was so poor in the room that I had to stand on the stair to complete my important tasks. The hotel itself is in a great neighborhood with lots of attraction.There are plenty cheap and delicious places to eat near by.

Clean, recently redecorated

It seems to have been redecorated recently, looks much better than other similar hotels in the area. Great location. Just be aware that the house numbers in Craven Rd are not consecutive, so this hotel (21-23) is actually after number 30.

The stairway to our room had a horrific smell, because our room was almost in the basement of the hotel and we weren’t informed. The smoke detector alarm kept going off because they were testing it while we were in the room. The room looks so much bigger on the pictures. My boyfriend and I could hardly get to the bathroom!! I personally do not recommend this...

Great value (though sweaty)

Overall great value. Only problem was the heat the first two days: they didn't have any fans, which meant the window had to be open, which meant major street noise.

Excellent for travellers on a budget.

Basic, but what was needed. A bed, a shower and a TV. Loved it. Only issue is a few things going missing, and staff were not overly kind when I asked them to keep an eye out.
