Didn't even make it to this hotel. Was told "issue with room I send you to my better hotel". I dread to think what this one was like based off the "better!!" Missing carpet, small tv with no remote, 1 out of 3 beds broken, stained bedding, 1 light not working, the list goes on and on....

Staff were helpful, but room was very basic. It was too warm, the beds weren't comfy, the TV had neither any input connected nor a remote control, the door instructions said to "Dial 0 in an emergency" but there was no phone to do so. The toilet and shower rooms were separate rooms down the corridor and shared with other rooms. Toilet room didn't have a sink, but room did, so you'd go to the toilet and then come back to your bedroom to wash your hands. There were only one double plug socket in our triple-bed room, and it was not near any of the beds. Hotel had WiFi but we were on the top floor and the WiFi didn't reach that far (not that we were given the password for it anyway). My phone got pretty poor reception inside the room, as well, so once inside the room we were kind of out of touch with the world. One of the panes of glass in the window was cracked. Think of this as more of a hostel than a hotel, and you might be alright. Location was decent (5 mins from British Museum). Staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. lent us an umbrella to go wandering). We paid 105 pounds for one night (a Saturday in December 2025) for the basic 'twin' room that was actually a triple room. Oh, and when we arrived at 3.05pm (check-in time was supposed to be 3pm) the room wasn't ready, so we went away and came back around 4.40pm and the room STILL wasn't ready, leaving us to wait in Reception until it was finally done. Gets a second star for the location and helpful staff.

Cold tap in the bedroom didnt turn on. Shower had no waterflow, wouldnt get hot after 15 minutes of waiting. No wifi in rooms. Outdated. DO NOT STAY HERE

Booked this hotel purely for its central location and for the price I paid I cannot complain. Yes, it's shabby, the decor is dated and the less said about the shared facilities the better. However, staff at reception were friendly, sink in the room and bedlinen was clean. Bring earplugs, there's a generator at the back of the property that runs all night.

The window latch was nearly falling off so no security. The main door lock was loose nearly coming off the door. No bath/ shower mat - dangerous. TV remote batteries were dead. The room was small and very basic.

The room (24) is very basic and run down. Sheets and towels were clean and fresh which stood out from the rest of the room. Unfortunately this room is at the top of the steps, so its noisy when people are moving around. The back of the room, faces the British Museum, whcih is undergoing building works at the moment and they stary at 730am. This room also has a sink, but no toilet or shower and is very expensive conpared to other rooms in the area with these facilities, so book early and get one of those.

I’ve seen better hostels at 20$ / night. :/ sorry man… From the moment you step into the lobby, all the way to the bedroom… it smells strongly like some old lady’s damp and musky basement. The shower is barely lukewarm, and the showerhead gives a mere trickle, zero pressure. Same for the tap, lukewarm, just a trickle, into a sink which is completely clogged up. The bed is uncomfortable, you can feel the springs in your back, and it’s squeaks. Pillow is as thin as a pancake. The walls are made of paper. Everything creeks and squeaks. The air is hot and stuffy even if it’s 12°C outside, and the window doesn’t open enough to properly let a breeze in.
