Disappointed.
I thought i was booked ar London house where the food services was but when arrived I was directed to accomodations 10 min walk away. There was a fridge but no kettle or mugs in the room, nor fan in the room during a heat wave. i didnt get what was advertised. the single bed mattress was not comfortable.
I didnt know what to expect when i showed up to a college, but the room itself was spacious and the property/grounds were quite nice. If you can deal with being a short train/bus from main attractions (and a shared bathroom) then this place works
This was an oasis in a very hot London. The garden is restful and peaceful. Staff are helpful, efficient and friendly. Freddie's provided excellent food and the best cup of tea I had in London. Have stayed before and will stay again. Just don't take a short cut through Coram fields. Adults must be accompanied by a child and if like me you don't realise this you will be politely but firmly challenged and asked to leave.
Goodenough College provided an ideal opprtunity for me to stay in London while attending conference and doing research. It was clean, well appointed and ideally located. The scholarly atmosphere was also very nice, providing a haven from the busy city.
It was fine. Not a real hotel so it was very basic, but the room and bathroom and lounge were very clean. There was no air conditioning or fan so all of the rooms were very hot and the windows don’t open all of the way. There is currently a heatwave in London, so this made sleeping really uncomfortable as it was so hot and sticky with no breeze or any real ventilation. The bathroom also didn’t have a shower curtain, so water got all over the floor when you showered and ended up soaking the towel mat for the floor.

I would recommend to stay here if you are not in London during summer. It was really hot in the room with no AC, and I could barely sleep. Even with a fan, the room was suffocating to say the least, since the windows are limited to be open for 3 inches due to Health and Safety reasons based on the staff. What made it worse was the elevator was out of order, which means in the heat I had to go upstairs every day. I do like the food in the cafeteria as it’s cheaper than eating elsewhere. However the bathrooms are also really bad due to peeling off ceilings and awful smells (again in the heat) - how hard is it to get some odor eliminator? Overall wouldn’t stay again in the summer. And the staff appeared annoyed when I asked about the elevator, the fan and the window, which I wasn’t expecting.
Loved staying here. It was clean and felt very safe. As a woman travelling solo this is important. The only sound was tennis being played and parakeets. All staff helpful and the garden was delightful to relax in. The food was good and inexpensive. Breakfast an excellent option for a busy day in the city.
The hostel is very close to the underground Russel Square . Alternatively, there are many bus stops around to take us to different places in London. Waitrose, Salisbury's and Tesco are just a 10-minute walk.
Staff were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Facilites were okay but I have to say the washing machine was very strong and efficient.
The cleanliness had to be improved. I consistently found flies in the room which was a bit irritating. Also, despite having a shared kitchen and laundry room, the hostel didn't provide any cooking utensils and washing powder. I ended up going out and buying a box of washing capsules in Salisbury's.
Overall, I had an enjoyable stay though
.
Great location. Reception staff were great and made me very welcome.
The only downside is the lack of toilet and shower in the room- otherwise excellent and a really good price.

Stayed here before several times and loved the hotel, hence booking again. But this time I was put in student quarters( I didn’t realise I wasn’t in the hotel rooms !!!. No coffee or tea, no milk. No TV , very uncomfortable mattress (thin and could feel all the springs ). Breakfast not included.
Charged £279 for the privilege of staying in a room for one night mid week(1adult) . Travel lodge would have been far superior to this.
This was also more than I thought I was being charged too, I thought the cost was £230 , which was still far too much for such a poor standard. Very disappointing
Some staff were lovely and some were downright rude. Not experienced that here before, usually the staff are all lovely.
