Our stay at Garden View Hotel was overall pleasant with a few things to consider. The room was surprisingly more spacious than we expected, which was a nice bonus. The private bathroom was appreciated, though the shower was very small—felt like being on a cruise! On top of that, the shower curtain wouldn’t stay in place, and water got everywhere, which was a bit annoying. Still, having a private bathroom at this price was a plus. Now, the elevator… OMG. It was tiny and super uncomfortable. Only two people could fit at a time, and it felt really suffocating. If you’re claustrophobic, just take the stairs! The host was very kind and accommodating. After checkout, they let us leave our luggage free of charge, which was really helpful. The location was also an advantage—the metro was just a few minutes away, making it easy to get around. However, the walls were paper-thin. We could hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms, which was a bit unpleasant. As for the area, the host told us he thought it was safe to walk at night, but we personally didn’t feel too comfortable. It was very dark with little to no movement, which made returning from the metro a bit unsettling. Nothing happened, but I wouldn’t recommend solo travelers to walk around at night—better to have some precaution, like carrying pepper spray just in case. All in all, a decent budget option with a great location, but be mindful of the elevator, thin walls, messy shower, and nighttime atmosphere.

Generally, good.

The location is good, room was clean, communication was great and staff were helpful and accommodating. It is a good valued and basic hotel. The only issue I personally found (which might not an issue for others) is the fact that sound insulation is poor. I could hear conversation and people moving around next door quite loudly. If this doesn’t bother you, the hotel is worth considering.

Excellent value for money

This was my second stay at Garden View Hotel. The price is extremely good value. Check in was friendly and efficient. Well located and close to Earls Court underground station. The bed is comfortable and the area is very quiet. Bathroom is tiny and a little dated but perfectly adequate. My only negative is that there are only two electric sockets and they are not near the bed. As long as you don’t expect a 5 star hotel then you won’t be dissatisfied. For a simple overnight stay you can’t go wrong.

A triple room was provided for one person, and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. However, there was no heater, so the room was cold even in winter. It was nice that there was an electric kettle so we could drink something hot.

Vriendelijk personeel en een perfecte uitvalsbasis om de rest van de stad te verkennen. Paar minuten lopen van een metrostation, en winkelstraat met eetgelegenheden en supermarkten. De kamers zijn klein en kunnen een update gebruiken, maar als je ze alleen gebruikt om te slapen en douchen zijn ze prima.

Hotel was on a quiet side road but easy walking distance to tubes, restaurants and fast food shops and a big supermarket. Our room was lower ground floor so got little natural light. It was not double glazed, but the heating compensated for that.
