look beneath the surface
The house itself is nice and as described and pictured. But while staying there (3 nights) we discovered what was beneath the polished surface. I also want to point out that I did not contact the owner about the oddities as they are. not readily fixable. The 6 bedrooms were all good and the beds comfortable though the closet door wouldn't stay closed in one rood leading the 11 year old to refuse to stay in that room. The 3 bathrooms where good though owner pointed out that one toilet is prone to clogging so we just didn't use it. Living room small but adequate. Unfortunately the 2 couches had blankets spread over them presumably to protect the upholstery. And these were not fitted covers that would stay in place. I straightened the blankets at least twice a day. The TV worked but with 3 remotes, each with a different function, we never got it to work. The owner did explain but without written instructions, it didn't help. Dining room had a table and 6 chairs. However, one chair was very rickety so I set it aside. Kitchen has a nice refrigerator. The gas stove had to be hand lit each use and was hard to light. By far the worse was that the inside of the drawers were not clean; crumbs, dust were readily apparant. So we washed dishes before using them. Two kitchen towels. one of which was dirty when we arrived. The back. porch was a jumble of junk. The back garden was dirt and weeds. Overall the place was adequate but not luxury.
