Smelly stay at the Seashore

My room was in the basement. It was stuffy and airless with no opening window. The bathroom smelled of drains. The decorating in the bathroom was unfinished. On each of the two days when I returned to the room I found human faeces in the toilet which has not been there when I left. It stank. The carpet in the room was dirty.

Suitable for a night

Arriving we found it easy to park although the area leading into the car park was tight due to bumpy curb and cars parked on the opposite side. Entrance to the hotel from the rear included a leaking pipe dripping into the doorway and the halls smelt musty. Receptionist took name, payment and gave key with no information about breakfast, WiFi and site facilities. Upon entering the room we found it to smell of cigarettes, possibly due to being on the front and people smoking below, the floor was extremely squeaky and made walking on it quite annoying, there had obviously been a leak on the ceiling as the wallpaper was bubbly and repair looked poorly done. The lamps and lighting worked well and the bedding was clean, although the mattress felt very springy and uncomfortable. 2 mirrors and a bag hold were helpful. Looked to be recently decorated. Bathroom small and smelly, possibly due to saniflow toilet. Didn’t use the shower or bath. There was a coffee machine and tea/coffee facilities.4 milk sachets were bitty when poured into hot drinks - we did not drink these. Nice view from the window and suitable for a night but I don’t think we would book to stay here again.

We were given a lower floor room that was so small that it felt like we werr dleeping in a cupboard. Room was dirty and smelled strongly of damp. As we arrived at 9pm there was no one on site to deal with our complaint, so had to wait until next morning before getting a room change. It was better but still dirty.

Pleasant stay in an excellent seafront location. Ideal for the theatre. It is a bit dated and the floor boards in our first floor room were seriously creaky. Clean however and comfortable.

The staff were great however the hotel needs renovation as there were cracks and patches in the walls, dirty carpets and the size of the rooms were very small. It was nothing as shown in the images. No toiletries were there apart from hand soap and soap for body and hair although the bedsheets were clean.

Position was good with sea views. While beds and bathrooms were cleam and comfortable, tthe fabric of he building was shabby and grubby. Housekeeping is insufficient and ineffectual. There were low standards and complacency.

The hotel rooms decor needs a serious update, but that's a very superficial criticism. It provided everything you would expect from a hotel, was comfortable, quiet and felt safe. Decent bar, lovely staff and good breakfast. We had a room with a seaview, right on the prom, about 15-20 mins stroll from the pier and main hub of Llandudno and 2 mins from Venue Cymry. Couldn't really ask more for a cheap hotel, and it was cheap: 2 people, 2 nights, for £99. Bargain.

Nice dog friendly Victorian hotel on the seafront. Breakfast was great . Lots of choice and pleasant staff. We went out of season so not many people around so very relaxing stay . Parking could be a problem if it was in season as they have limited spaces .but all the hotels on the promenade have the same problem !

Very tired looking room in need of renovation. The room had three steps down to a separate bathroom which, in the dark, at night, could prove dangerous. The beds were very comfortable and, I suppose the price we paid was reasonable for that particular room. The communal areas of the hotel were comfortable and clean.

Rather dated interior, repairs in the room looked like rush jobs. Very noisy, cramped lift which took you to very narrow and dimly lit corridors. No bin in the bathroom for disposal of sanitary products, and the carpet next to the bathroom door was coming away from the carpet gripper leaving the sharp points exposed. Pipework in the corridor was sticking up where radiators had been removed
