Ignorant staff on arrival to check in. Card in room saying “ IT'S THE NUMBER THAT DOES ANYTHING (ALMOST) A HOTLINE TO OUR 24/7 HELP-SQUAD WE'RE HERE FOR WHATEVER YOU FANCY SNACKS, BOOKINGS, EXTRA PILLOWS (OR SOMETHING TOTALLY OUTSIDE THE BOX) PICK UP THE PHONE AND WE'LL GIVE IT A SHOT” Called up and asked for a bottle of champagne and glasses to the room. They declined and said they’re too busy to do room service today. Making our Valentines night extra special having to nip to the local Sainsbury’s to buy a bottle!

Beautiful hotel but breakfast lets it down.

Came to Liverpool to watch Paddy McGuiness and partner watched the Liverpool game. Hotel is very impressive to look at and views from the room were superb. Service upon arrival was great. Breakfast however was a different story. We arrived at breakfast about 9.30 ( it finished at 10.30) and there was no bread, no mushrooms, juices were empty, no cutlery on tables. I asked for bread but after waiting 10 mins, gave up. Only scrambled egg was available. Such a shame as apart from that, could not fault the hotel. I think the problem was with being short staffed. Would stay again if that was rectified.

Self service everywhere

Check yourself in and cut your own room key - novelty value fast wears off!. Given the wrong wrong - apparently computer issue, as people don’t do anything. Restuarant (breakfast) service does not exist and staff deeply unmotivated. Bacon is like cardboard and inedible. Great hotel let down by economising over guest value and experience.
