The receptionist wasn’t very welcoming when we checked in. No explanation on where the pool was and when it could be used. Asked if we wanted an evening meal but no menu was shown so we thought it would be in our room, sadly not! Had booked a superior room, if that was superior I would hate to stay in a standard room! It was very small, but clean

The hotel part is NOT in the beautiful old building that the property features on their Expedia images, which I found to be misleading. Superior room was very small, dark, on the ground (more like underground) floor and shower leaks all over the bathroom floor. Convenient for the Harry Potter stuff but that's about it.

Not exceptional despite reviews

Tired hotel. Obviously gets a lot of single night stayers due to proximity to the film studios, so repeat business isn't a priority. Cold bedroom, bed too short, bathroom poorly maintained. Uninviting bar with commercial radio on way too load, filthy carpet and TV on but no sound. Maybe a blessing in disguise actually; being able to see adverts for pile cream is bad enough while you're eating, perhaps best not to hear about it too. Although this hotel has many "exceptional" reviews, it is very far from being exceptional, and average at best. I had a superior room. There was nothing superior about it. Did not live up to my expectations in any way whatsover. Won't return unless desperate. The price bracket is for an average hotel, and that is what it is.

Stayed here for 2 nights absolutely beautiful place. The room was nice and big enough for just 2 of us the bathroom was spacious and the shower was lovely. The grounds are well kept and beautiful and the staff are really lovely too especially the bar man (sorry didnt get his name)

Lovely place to stay, safe and quiet , staff friendly. Would only recommend a sign to say open times of Bar area as this was unmanned this morning when we wished to purchase drinks on multiple occasions so we had to find staff at awkward times.

Convenient quiet location close to M25. Compact double room,shower needed to have have instructions to ensure safe operation. Pillows were hard and lumpy making an undisturbed sleep impossible. Grounds were very well maintained with no passing traffic etc.

Property was impressive to drive into with its historical main building, vast country grounds, up to date rooms, private swimming pool and great breakfast. It was also lovely to see two wedding functions on the thursday night and friday morning. Very welcoming/friendly staff and literally round the corner from Warner Brothers Studio Tour and a food/entertainment leisure park. My only 'issue' was the 6-6.30am delivery of supplies. It was extremely noisy and the windows were shut! Would stay again though if visiting London as very reasonably priced.

Great stay. I think this hotel has been recently refurbished because our experience didn't match the reviews we read on Google. The room was great. The grounds were beautiful. Food was good. The only down side was that it seemed they were under staffed. We had to wait quite a long time at the bar before someone turned up and there was someone kicking off because they had been waiting for 30m at reception for someone to arrive. That wasn't my experience, although there was quite a long queue to check in
