Lovely place

We had an amazing time here. The father and son who run the hotel are amazing stewards for Portugal. They were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Their recommendations for restaurants, tours and wine were perfect!

What a lovely place! Everything was wonderful from the welcome to the breakfast to the genuine host, Rui! It's a short walk to the palace/town but provided relaxation after busy days! The rooftop patio was a treat as well. Even after my stay, Rui took the time to send a forgotten personal belonging back to me - well above and beyond host duties. I cannot thank him enough!

Rui was a gracious host. The hotel is convenient to the trsin station and bus stop. The view from the plaza is outstanding. Only issue is parking, but that's true in most of Portugal LOL.

From the moment I arrived, Rui, our host, was the most hospitable, kind, and helpful person. He gave me excellent insider advice on how to get to Pena palace and back. I am very glad I listened and went early. He is full of excellent food recommendations in and around Sintra. I'll admit I was a little wet-eyed to leave. Definitely be back!

Our "go to" home in Sintra , Portugal

A warm welcome by Rui and help with our bags created an immediate good impression and this high level of service was repeated throughout our stay. The staff certainly know how to run an efficient and comfortable boutique hotel. The provided breakfasts were a great way to start the day and prepare us for lots of sightseeing and walking. The bed was quite comfortable and there was little disturbance from outside traffic. This establishment is within walking distance of the National Palace and plenty of bars, shops , cafes and restaurants. Other areas for sightseeing are just a further 10 to 15 minutes walk further on although there are plenty of transport options also available. Hotel Nova Sintra is just a 10 minute walk either the train station which also makes this location convenient for day trips to Cascais or Lisbon. I can see that the terrace would be put to good use in the warmer months of the year but unfortunately the weather was a little unsettled during our stay. This is our second visit to Sintra. Would we visit again? Definitely - there is still a number of sights and day trips to keep our interest. Where would we stay? The Hotel Nova Sintra again of course. After all we travel for enjoyment and appreciate good service when we experience it.

The best place to stay in all of Sintra! Owner and general manager, Rui, is very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful family business, clean and extremely well kept, excellent location close to bus and train stations. We loved calling it home for a few nights!

All the lovely reviews this property receives are true! I can't think of a better place to end our trip than with Rui at Hotel Nova Sintra! Because it is off / above the street, it is quiet and has a lovely view from the patio as well as the room window. It is quite safe with access by guest key only. The train station and town bus stops are only a short walk down the street. We arrived by bus from Porto and made a bit longer walk to the hotel, but very do-able with rolling luggage. The complimentary breakfast buffet had a great deal of variety and was filling and delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. My favorite thing about this hotel was the black washcloth provided for make-up removal - I know that might sound silly, but most European hotels do not provide washcloths. I had forgotten my own, and this was a nice touch.

Excellent small hotel, room good sized, clean & comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Host, Rui, was terrific, making us feel very comfortable, and was extreemly informative and helpful in providing restaurant, sightseeing, and transportation recommendations. Would definitely look to stay again.
