When you stay at The Villa Levens in Kendal, you'll be in a national park, within a 15-minute drive of Yorkshire Dales National Park and Lake Windermere.
Once we arrived there, we found that the hotel was closed because of the strike. No explanation in advance. We had to book other hotel suddenly and we couldn't have a choice but to stay at a hotel that is far away. We can't believe it and we don't recommend all of you to stay here.

Located in Kendal, Gilpin Bridge Inn is in a national park, a 2-minute drive from Levens Hall and Gardens and 6 minutes from Sizergh Castle.
Very clean room and lovely friendly staff. Food was hit or miss, lovely mushroom starter then the special lasagne was dry, and bland. Breakfast was diy. Not a great range of options.
