Luxury stone house with view and heated pool

Detached stone farmhouse , Bellair House was named after an inscription engraved in stone in 1869, linked to the location and its position with a dominant view of the vineyards, woods and footpaths in an unspoilt environment between Saint Emilion and Bergerac, on the hillsides of the Dordogne. This property was completely restored in 2023 using high quality sustainable materials such as stone and wood. The house is comfortable, light and airy, furnished with high standard , air-conditioned, all the single storey rooms have access to the large tiled south facing terrace with its dominant panoramic view and its salt water swimming pool with decking and electric shutter, heated from May to September.

The originality: a spacious master en-suite with canopy bed fitted out in the old wine storehouse and a pretty bedroom with a cabin bed for young and not-so-young .... to be discovered ... and many other details which distinguish it from a classic house

Its pluses: a dominant view of the neighbouring vineyard, air conditioning, free wireless broadband via fibre (400 Mbs), a fireplace with wood supplied, refined decoration, a fully equipped kitchen, all bed linen and towels supplied, beach towels provided free of charge, a warm welcome by the owners. Wonderful walks and cycle routes are ont he doorstep and it is only a short distance to eh Dordogne river with many riverside restaurants.

The historic bastide town of Sainte Foy la Grande (6 min) offer weekly market, restaurants and shopping are within easy reach at 7kms, as are the various vineyards which offer tastings and the hiking trails (including St Jacques de Compostelle) passing in front of the house.
This is a major wine producing area, with many opportunities to taste and purchase Bordeaux and Bergerac wines direct from Chateau. The Vigiers golf course, the gourmet markets of the Périgord, the Dordogne, Bergerac and Saint Emilion and its renowned wines are all within easy reach (40 mins away). All the major supermarkets are located in Ste Foy la Grande but there is a smaller supermarket in Pellegrue (10mins) and a grocery in the lovely quiet village of Les Leves et Thoumeyragues. The city of Bordeaux is just over an hour and half's drive awayr. Nearest airports are Bergerac (40mins) and Bordeaux (90mins)

The Bellair house is a perfect place to stay for families with children but also for weddings organised not far from there in Château Soulac, La Tourbeille, Château Carbonneau ...
