Family Wedding in area

We looked for somewhere close to the wedding venue and found this property. It's fairly new and a fabulous view of Lake Wenatchee. Loved having three full bathrooms for everyone to get ready. Needs some details attended, lights didn't all seem to work. Couldn't get the fireplace to start, and if you are there in the warmer months be aware no air conditioner. Fans worked well once the sun dropped. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Very modern and adorable house

Easy to communicate via phone and text message. Very nice place, loved the set up, decorations and comfort of the house! We had a party of 8 staying, it would be nice to have more dishes available. But overall 10/10 , definitely would recommend.

Wonderful time with family, less than stellar cabin

Cabin is beautiful. Views are beautiful. Location to Lk Wenatchee great. BUT, no shades on any windows, thus the interior was a baking oven in the afternoons, evenings. Poorly stocked kitchen, not even pot holders, bring everything you need. Squatters, and abandoned houses on shared driveway. OH YES, the driveway is beyond steep. loose gravel, Had troubles with 4wd in dry hot weather. Don't stay here.

Listen to the other review. Waist of money and sanity.

On arrival, the house was so hot! 98 outside so it was probably 90 inside. There is no a/c in the cabin which is listed without a/c but we missed that so that’s on us. None of the fans were on so we turned them all on but all the downstairs fans didn’t even work so the downstairs was miserable as can be. The place is in need of a major deep clean. It’s picked up but every corner and wall is so nasty and I’m sure no one has wiped any of the furniture and corners in months. The stove also hasn’t been cleaned in years, just layers of burned on stuff and grease/food splattered up the wall. Also, even tho the towels looked washed there is so much dog hair and long black human hair in them. Very uncomfortable to even wipe your hands when you get dog hair hanging off your hands afterwards. The bed sheets all had human/dog hair on them so we slept on top of the comfortable. We did leave the beds undid but o hopefully get them to wash the sheets. The power went off the first night and stayed off the whole day we were suppose to be there. Mid shower the water shut off so that was fun to get cleaned off with bottled water. The power and water stayed off for the rest of that night and day until the following evening. We couldn’t even cook or stay in a cabin we rented because there was no power/water. I swear it was just one thing after another. The hot tub also needs some major maintenance, the water is so gross and looks slimy. We didn’t even turn it on because there was a dead frog in there and that’s a hard no. If you want to go camping in the woods without water or power and don’t care about dog hair or cleaningness then this will be your place. If your not into that then it’s not for you. There is so much potential to this place but it’s lacking a good cleaning team and a management team.

EXTREMELY ICY DRIVEWAY!

Overall the stay was nice. The house is newer and has plenty of room for guests. It was clean and had tidy with everything we needed. Our only major complaint is the numerous power outages during our stay (there was no storm), but it appeared the neighbor had water and power from their property also connected to the house. The listing does mention a driveway with need for capable vehicles during snowy weather, BUT it didn't mention the extremely hazardous 6" sheet of ICE the entire length of the first driveway. Our 4x4 vehicle with a very experienced driver ended up sideways after multiple attempts. We ended asking a neighbor if we could park there overnight instead because it was not worth the risk. We also called the property management company (Vacasa) and we never heard from them again about the situation. We're assuming they told us what we wanted to hear and didn't feel like dealing with us since we were checking out the next day. **DO NOT travel here if you have little to no snow or icy weather driving experience on steep driveways!**

Nice house. Lots of clean towels. The neighborhood not so much. 200 foot drive to the house is quite a challenge. Steep and bumpy. Old snow blocked half the driveway/parking area.

DO NOT STAY HERE - Terrible Experience

What we thought would be a wonderful cabin in the mountains, turned into a problematic weekend quickly. Most importantly was the leak in one of the communal bedrooms which caused the water pressure to completely disappear with the 3rd level not having any water at all. We reported this and while they got someone out there quickly, they couldn't fix the issue and said this was an issue the owners knew about. The room became disgusting and had to be closed off due to the horrid stench of mold and dampness. We had 3 people sleeping on couches and the floor due to this. Another massive issue was the drive way. They say this could be difficult to drive up in with the snow, and that is an understatement. The whole driveway became an ice shoot and we could barely walk up and down it let alone get cars up and down. We also were in a constant car shuffle with the neighbors who share the drive way. We ended up spending HOURS trying to move cars and maker sure everyone had a spot and wasn't going to get stuck on top of the hours we spent dealing with the water issues. We tried to reconcile with Vacasa who was responsive at first, then just didn't call me back and ignored my calls asking for a partial refund. Terrible service. Additionally, this property looks nice, says it can accommodate 10 guests. While there is technically enough beds for 10 guests, the kitchen does not have 10 of everything else needed: glasses, mugs, bowls, etc. We had to be constantly washing dishes to be able to use them. There weren't enough mugs for everyone to have a cup of coffee or enough glasses for everyone to use. That was the easiest of our issues. The Hot tub also had disgusting stuff floating in it. We only used it briefly once due to it's disgusting nature. DO NOT STAY HERE. You will be disappointed at a minimum. This is getting reported to VRBO.

Nice house with great hikes nearby

We enjoyed our stay at the house and we found some great local hikes. The views from the house look over to the nearby peaks on the South side of Lake Wenatchee, as well as a partial view of the lake itself. Cleaning could be better; we found many crumbs and food pieces under the seat cushions, and the stove top had not been cleaned at all. Overall though, this is a nice place to stay in a peaceful environment

Dirty and not good water access

We showed up at this property in the late afternoon to find the caretaker in the house doing his personal laundry. He followed us inside and said he needed to fix the fireplace. The house was not clean. Dog hair on the carpet and furniture, bathroom fan full of dust and fuzz, spiderweb in the floor corners, and dog hair in the drinkware and dishes. We had to wash each piece before using, as they are on an open shelf, not inside a cabinet. The dishwasher was out of order with a sticker letting us know it could not be used. There were only two small kitchen towels which made washing and drying difficult. The outside trash cans were full when we arrived. I asked the caretaker where we would be putting our trash and he told me he had moved one bag into another can, so we had one medium sized empty trash can available. There were only two kitchen trash bags in the house so we had to buy more, as well as buying paper plates, bowls, and napkins. We had 9 people for 6 days, so expected to have more to work with. The house had laundry facilities but no laundry supplies so we bought those as well. When we first arrived, it was close to 90 degrees in the house. Most of the windows are west facing and there are no window coverings and no air conditioning in the house. All 3 stories were sweltering. There were 5 standing fans but only 2 were working. We managed to fix a third during our stay. This house is supposed to be a five minute walk from a private beach, and there was supposed to be a map in the house for us to find the path. No map. No paperwork or instructions at all, other than the note on the dishwasher. We asked the caretaker how to get to the lake and he said he couldn't explain it and would have to show us. He was very difficult to understand with his heavy accent. We declined. Later in the evening we decided to look for the path. You have to cross 2 roads and then walk a path between two private residences. The private beach is a tiny section between two large homes with docks and a boat. Not Ideal for swimming. The rope swing was a straight rope hanging from a tree, but did not reach to the water as implied. The house itself was roomy with lots of sleeping space, although most of the beds are in the garage. The large amount of windows and thin walls made sleeping incredibly difficult. The driveway is as terrible as described and one of our guests almost couldn't make it. The hose on the house is hooked up to a camp trailer on the lot above.

Quiet location with a view but needs TLC

The location of this house was great, very quiet and really good views of the lake and surrounding hills. Like many of the other reviews mention the house is not clean. It needs a deep clean and some maintenance. There was a pvc pipe that looked like it belonged up on the third floor that had fallen into the back yard. There were random house items and trash by the side of the house. The back yard itself is very small but good for relaxing in a chair, although it is faux grass over a lumpy ground. The sheets in multiple rooms were not washed. There was a lot of human and dog hair. We slept on top of the comforter. We did not use the hot tub, the water was milky/murky. If the house had been cleaned appropriately this would be a 4 star.

Beautiful views, nice house, irritating flaws

The house itself was very nice. The views were even better than expected; the online pics don’t do it justice. There were some irritating flaws in the overall experience, however. The owner, Vacasa, is a company that apparently is in the business of short term rentals, so you’d think they would have better processes. First, they don’t comply with written VRBO policies as to what to expect, nor did they follow their own. I expected, as written here in VRBO, that I would receive an email requesting the second / final payment. I didn’t. Instead Vacasa simply chatted the credit card I used to make the first payment - without telling me. When I contacted them to ask about how to make the second payment, their rep didn’t seem to understand what I was talking about. It was only during this lengthy exchange that I checked my credit card records online. When I questioned how this was done, they were rude and condescending, actually saying “we’re sorry you THINK this would happen a different way,” after which I sent them the written VRBO statement explaining how it SHOULD have worked. What if I had wanted to pay with a different card or had the friend who went with me pay the other half?? I was given no choice as I expected nor was I sent any kind of receipt. Their apology was weak and insincere. Very bad start. Also, in spite of the many emails I received in duplicate from them, one promising to send me the entry code the morning of the reservation, they never sent it. Another call to VRBO as we approached the property, and more condescension as they clearly presumed I’d overlooked it. I didn’t. They finally sent it. In spite of multiple complaints in prior reviews over nearly a year that the ice maker was broken, it not only was still broken, there were no ice cube trays. The nearest ice was a 30 minute round trip drive. Really…!? How much do ice cube trays cost? We had to use paper cups WE brought to make ice. The property has multiple wonderful TVs and many remotes... and ONE with batteries that weren’t dead. Again, batteries would have been a 39 minute round trip, assuming the nearest gas station market even had them. Two of the five lamps in the house didn’t work, including the only lamp in the upper bedroom. As other reviews state, the driveway is truly bad. Unless you’re driving a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, get a running start before you attempt it. It’s steep, bumpy, and has a tight turn. Think “rough carnival ride”.

Misleading advertising

We felt the pictures to advertise the property were misleading. There were trailers/vehicles close to the property in various stages of decay. 2 dogs kept coming onto the property and pooping. There were at least 7 bags of garbage and the garbage cans were full so that we could not empty anything. I told Mary this on our first day and no one ever came to remove them. The ice maker in the frig/freezer did not work. We were not told to bring our own ice. The floors were not very clean, nor the windowsills While we did relax and enjoy , we also felt for the amount of money charged for fees and cleaning that it was not worth it. Would not recommend the property to to anyone else.

Disappointed but tried to enjoy the stay

The house has a unique design with tall windows with nice views and 3 separate floors for the group to have their own spaces. But quite few issues. Bear in mind that we stayed there in Mid-Feb. 1) Impossible to drive up the icy, steep driveway with a Tahoe. Ended up parking in the neighboring parcel and trespassing every time we walked back and forth between the house and the cars. 2) No propane for fireplace. Really? Staying in the mountains with no fireplace! Mood killer 3) the lowest level with the big TV Room is basically the garage which is used as a room. Our kids stayed in that room, but it was so cold that they needed to layer up quite a lot. No heater in that big room nor the adjacent room 4) No quilt available, only throws or thin fleece blankets 5) Ice maker broken 6) Carpet in the main floor was full of pet hair. I understand it was a pet friendly house but a good vacuum could clean that carpet.

What a view

Well designed house located with a view to the lake. Problems: grounds in disarray, no propane for fireplace first four days (owner used it up earlier in the week), ice maker didn't work, place was partially cleaned. Property located in an enclave that includes abandoned houses and trailers- lined of a mess. Don't try the driveway without 4 wheel drive. Offered a $ credit but don't see we received it. Perks:The house is beautiful, the view can't be beat. If you have a large crowd this is a large house as the garage is outfitted as living area. The 4 star average should probably be a 3 but the view.

Nice Lake Wenatchee Getaway Base

This is a good property for a family getaway to Lake Wenatchee. We visited with (1) four year old, (2) adults in our late 30s, and (2) seniors in their early 70s. Everyone enjoyed having three floors to spread out, and being a five-minute walk to the lakefront beach. General PROs: 1) Close walk to beach 2) Short drive to public beach park (Discover Pass required) 3) Lots of bed options; our kid loved the bunk beds! 4) Generally clean -- all bathrooms, kitchen, and bed linens were clean 5) Working hot tub 6) Dogs allowed (but there is no fence, so make sure your dog has good recall or is leashed outside) General CONS: 1) No directions provided to access the public beach a short walk away. We found it, so it's not impossible, but it would be nice to have the directions available in the check-in package. 2) No storage space for food other than in or on top of the refrigerator. We didn't need to use the bedroom off the main living space, so we used that as a storage area. 3) Cleanliness - could use a better vacuuming prior to check-in 4) The listing isn't clear that the house is up a shared driveway that is shared with 4-5 other lots, so it is not as remote or private as the photos suggest. This was an unpleasant surprise, but not a total dealbreaker. Overall, the views and location are still good.
