Clean, updated unit in north kaanapali

We loved this unit at the Honua Kai. The room was really clean and had everything we needed, including beach chairs and boogie boards. The room was modern and featured a nice balcony, where I worked in the mornings. The management company was very responsive to our needs. Nice location on the quieter north side of Kaanapali.

Best property on Maui

This property is by far one of the best to rent on the west side of Maui. The resort is beautiful and right on the ocean. The room was clean and spacious and had all the necessities needed for a great beach or pool day. Duke’s restaurant is hands down a favorite of ours for food and beverages. We hope to be able to stay at this property again in the future!!!

Lovely time

I really enjoyed this rental unit. My husband and our two kids stayed here and we found it fit all our needs. There was definitely some wear and tear on the outdoor furniture and the refrigerator wouldn’t close unless you slammed it just right lol. We also had issues with the TV- the guide is wrong. Fire alarm went off to the whole building one night and really messed up my last night sleep. Other than the little issues and the resort being kinda overrated since it’s almost too crowded in the pools- we would most likely stay here again. The view from the Lanai was amazing and my favorite part! Hotel staff and check-in/ bellman was wonderful. Parking was very easy!

Overall great!

Honua Kai is a great property and we’ve stayed before (though with a different property management company). The condo is very nice with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, living room, etc. Communication with the property management could be improved. They were not very responsive leading up to the trip via email or through the VRBO app nor while we were there (issue with the TV). I would recommend they provide a number that you can text.

Great Location, nice property

We had a great time staying here. The condo was spacious and clean with a nice partial ocean view from the balcony. The condo had beach chairs, umbrella and coolers for our use that was a pleasant surprise. The location is fantastic for spending time at the beach and a short drive to Lahaina - we would stay here again.

Loved everything about this property. Plus side was Duke's. My hubby and I stayed on the property a lot so it was a plus to have a place to get great food and drinks! Steak is amazing!!

We LOVED the Honua Kai Resort and the room was perfect for our family. The sofa bed was extremely comfortable!! The only two issues we had were 1) the dryer is not very effective. Don’t even think about trying to dry towels or sheets in it. Thankfully, the rental company was happy to replenish both of these items whenever we needed it. However, you really need to stay on top of clothes drying so they don’t sit damp for too long. Which brings me to my second point. 2) there is a strong smell of smoke in the room. It seemed strongest right near the washer and dryer.

Wonderful stay

We spent a week at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa. It was fabulous with it being a short walk down to the beach. Seeing the sunset every evenining. The condo is clean and well kept and huge! Overall it was a wonderful vacation for us and our kids. Looking forward to coming back again.

Lovely Unit: No Surprises, All Was Good and As Expected

Everything in our condo unit was exactly what we expected. HomeAway and KBM listed everything very clearly and we knew what to expect. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to communicate with KMB b/c they only work best through email and I'd hear back from different people or sometimes not at all but in the end everything was OK and worked out. Also, there were some burnt out light bulbs in our unit but really, that's about it. I have no complaints. Everything was great and we were really happy with our experience and the unit. It looked just like the pictures, was clean, and we LOVED the nano system doors that opened up the entire lanai. The resort is beautiful and very family oriented. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii! I definitely would stay at this resort again but probably won't stay in this unit again, only b/c we'd rather have a two bedroom condo and a courtyard or ocean view. No complaints about the unit at all. It was quiet and well maintained. The bathroom was large and the bed was comfortable. Everything in the kitchen met our needs & we cooked many meals there.

Great Condo!!

This condo exceeded all our expectations! We loved that it was fully stocked with all your necessities. The kitchen had all the tools you would need to cook a meal and everything was very clean. This places made us feel right at home for the 11 days we stayed. My sons loved the resort pools! The only drawback we can think of would be the construction going on next door, that sometimes made for very loud noise and unpleasant dust. But overall we are extremely satisfied and looking forward to staying here again in the near future!
