View from the top of El Peñon de Guatape (The Rock of Guatape). The lake is man made for a hydroelectric dam built in 1970. It’s a short drive from Medellin and definitely worth a visit.
El Peñon is a granitic rock in Guatape, just outside of Medellin. You can get amazing views of a massive man-made lake by climbing the 740 steps to the top.
When visiting La Piedra... A true wonder of Earth, not just Colombia... You need to buy a souvenir because you'd want to brag about where you went... At the foot of the rock you can find many small tents with hundreds of typical Colombian crafts, like these bags #Market

Breakfast was good, coffee was hot , the room was extremely quiet with birds sounds. Fabulous experience, hot tub was warm and pleasant , our shower didn't get warm , the sauna was amazing though. The staff were kind and service was good Overall highly recommended
