While prepaid, we were never informed this property is permanently closed. We had a very hard time finding it, hours, and when we achieved getting there, the gates were padlocked. We honked and a caretaker came to the gate seeming surprised we were there. “Ferme! Ferme! Finis!” he cried. Showing him the reservation with picture of the chateau, he acknowledged we were at the right place. He made a phone all but still said “Ferme!” We had to find other lodgings and pay again.

Great place to stay

A beautiful and well preserved Chateau with the added bonus of having a swimming pool. The proprietor was very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend a stay here for someone who wants to say somewhere different from the average run of the mill hotel.

This was such a gem of a find! The staff greeted me by name which was such a treat! The grounds and chateau are charming. The pool is an added bonus! I wish I could have stayed longer! It is such a fun thing to get to stay in such a grand place. Do not hesitate!!!

Great hotel, hopeless reception

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and would be very highly recommended were it not for its reception arrangements. Reception is only staffed intermittently and we waited almost 20 minutes on arrival to be seen with no indication of our room number or indeed of anything. Same experience when we left for an evening meal in nearby Angers - not a soul in sight and after 30 minutes fruitless and frustrating waiting around with no-one in attendance we simply left. Upon our return the owner was just arriving and our concerns were met with little more than a Gallic shrug and a "c'est la France". This is disappointing so our advice if you have booked is to clarify well in advance your time of arrival

La vie de Château !

Hospitality you say? These guys know what they are doing! What a doigté to make you feel at home, with all kinds of little details and attention. The ambiance is great,the decor is amazing,thanks to the past of Antique dealer from one of the owners,the gardens are amazing,the peace and the easiness to rest are incredible,and all that, 5 minutes from downtown Angers and not even a minute from the highway! Very strategic if you attend a show at Parc des Expositions. Just AWESOME!

An absolute gem!

Charming place thoughtfully decorated to reflect the age of the chateau. Beautiful view across the countryside from our hotel room balcony. Peaceful place to relax by the pool. Short drive into Angers. Staff were extremely friendly and booked a local restaurant for us. They speak English well.

Getaway space.

We stayed here for an evening after working our way across the Loire region visiting several castles and awaiting Monday's Tour de France arrival in Angers. The grounds were excellent although not perfect kept. The elevator was small but effective. It was a bit out of the city but we enjoyed looking out over the hills and the quiet serenity of the grounds with some wine. I know people might have concerns but the overall for the price this was a great value.

Beautiful place, exquisite breakfast in a gorgeous room. Nice (large) property to stroll around. 10mn from center of Angers. Great place to spend a quiet night in a beautiful and historical setting.

Gorgeous French Countryside

This place couldn't be more beautiful! The only reason I gave the neighborhood 4 stars instead of 5 is it is not in the city center. Which something this beautiful could not be in the city center. Our room was on the bottom floor. It was huge and amazing. The chateau was beyond a fantasy. The view was for miles and miles of green. There were sheep down below. All the staff was sweet and accommodating.
