We enjoyed our stay. I liked the location near by bus stop, supermarket, and restaurants; particularly liked it’s near a river trail for morning walk.

It was really close to the castle and the staff member who checked us in was very kind and informative during the check in process. Only needed for one night and it was a nice sized room for three people to be comfortable.

We stayed on adjoining ground floor apartments. Each apartment had two queen sized beds (plus two extra futons), a raised tatami sitting area, a kitchenette, 2 toilets and a Japanese style bathroom (shower area and a deep tub). Each opened to a beautiful private garden with outdoor seating. There's a common laundry area next to the reception with washers and dryers. There's a large supermarket across the street and a couple of convenience stores, some restaurants. Buses to Kinkakuji and Arashiyama as well as to downtown (Shijo/Sanjo Kawaramachi) are just around the corner. Nijo is just across the road (on Horikawa-dori) and the Imperial Palace is a 10 minute walk away... We got 50% off when we booked so very reasonable even at full price. 100% recommended!

Not your average hotel

The hotel was very nice! I loved how the decor was inside. I was very surprised because I made the reservation based off of one review. I had my doubts but I’m glad I got it. I highly enjoyed that the laundry machines were free. We also felt safe as well. There was a security code at the door of the hotel and one for your room. It did make up the fact, IF you stay more than 3 nights, you can get more towels, but only you order it ahead of time. So our family of 3 got two towels for three nights. Also, we were asked to take the trash out of the hotel. Never had to do that but I’m glad I read the information that was in the book. It’s not your average hotel stay.

よかったことと 分かりにくくて困ったこと

リーズナブルなお値段で宿泊でき、小さい子供連れにはベッドプラス お布団もあり大変助かりました。 朝食がついてなかったですが、ちょっとした台所がありよかったです。 5歳の子供が、ベッドが広くて喜びすぎて走り回り ちょっと唇を怪我してしまったのが残念でしたが。 あと 予約をする際にお問い合わせした時に現場での支払いではなく クレジットでとのことでしたので クレジット番号を入れて予約しましたが、予約確認のメールでは、封筒にお金を入れて出してくださいとあったので、二重になってしまうといけないので、ホテルに問い合わせしようとしたところ、 KOKO がつく 同じ名前のホテルがあって 問い合わせに時間がかかってしまいました。フロントの電話の男性の方に「うちのホテルには泊まっておられません。この電話はただの営業妨害です！」とか言われ心外でした。 やっと、ランドー ホテル スイーツ 札幌 というカスタマーセンターのようなところにつながり 、泊まったホテルの確認と宿泊税のことが分かりました。このことで朝の時間がかかってしまい予定のところに行けませんでした。 ホテル内の案内にも電話番号とか 封筒 などもありませんでしたので 分かりにくかったのが残念でした。
