My friend and I had a great time in this hotel. The rooms were in perfect condition, very clean and new looking. I especially liked the traditional Japanese windows (shoji) which provided nice lighting and also had a solid wood pane that slid shut, providing nearly blackout conditions. You need to remove your shoes when you enter the hotel, and place them in a locker; this was unexpected when we arrived, but we quickly got used to it and it was no issue at all (unless you forget to bring the locker key with you when you want to leave!). They have a very good brunch buffet, though it may be a bit pricey depending on your appetite ($28CAD per person). Also it gets quite busy by 9am so you may have to wait to get in. They offer a good selection of eastern and western cuisine so our main issue was not taking too much! The staff was extremely polite and professional, and went above and beyond for me. I had been to a shop where the owner did not speak English, and later realized I'd forgotten to ask him (with Google Translate) if he had an item my wife wanted. I asked the staff if they could call him for me and ask about the item. I could tell this was an unusual request, but they did it for me gladly and saved me a lot of trouble. I really appreciated it! The hot springs are very nice as well. They're open at all times except 10am - 3pm. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a large hotel, and crowded with tourists. But there are a lot of very nice hot spring options on 3 floors - which are nice after walking all day long shopping and sightseeing. Massage chairs are nice if you can get on one of them. Early morning hours less crowded and more enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is amazing but almost too much food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kyoto

Incredible multilingual staff and if they don’t, it was still easy enough to communicate with gestures and simple words. The staff’s service is/was truly on another level of hospitality. I will definitely come again!

The staff are very nice and friendly. The place is very clean. The buffet breakfast is very delicious. They have a coffee machine in the lobby from which you can get coffee latte, matcha latte, and etc for free at anytime. The onset is a wonderful. I love this place❤️❤️❤️

This place is a gem. The whole hotel is a special experience, from the lounge wear they give you to wear, to the free matcha and ramen. The hot springs are so relaxing and the rooms are simple but beautiful. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple, relaxing stay :)

WOW! What a spectacular place. Beyond Kyoto’s beauty coming to this hotel to relax every evening was the highlight of our trip. My only regret is not staying longer. There are so many amenities for the price and you can truly relax and unwind. Although it was a bit crowded due to holiday I can’t imagine how perfect this hotel is during off season. I will certainly be back!
