The staff were extremely helpful, storing luggage, arranging luggage transfers and offering use of their phone for a local call. Kids loved the bunk-beds and it was definitely handy having an in-room washer-dryer. The room was comfortable for a family of 4 but we were disappointed at there being no good views as the hotel is only a few stories high, in a quieter street. I had high expectations due to the Mimaru brand having great reviews especially for families, and while it ticked all the boxes there was nothing outstanding other than the great staff. To be picky - the shower was small, dark and minimalist, and the amenities weren’t great. Overall a clean, nice hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Elize from the front desk was very knowledgeable. Nice room with a section of traditional Japanese space with Tatami, Japanese dining table and cushion seats. Space for 4 is descent. The room has washer and dryer. Has refrigerator and kitchen sink. The place is walikng distance to the train station and shopping areas. There are lots of places within the area for dining with excellent food. This place is highly recommended.

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Our family loved the size of the apartments and the ability to do laundry in our rooms. The surrounding area was quiet and the nearest subway station was relatively close (with lift accessibility). Staff were really friendly and even printed off some shinkansen QR tickets for us to make our travels easier. We also loved the fish projections on the lobby floor. Our 2 year old could've stared at them for hours!

Very friendly staff and accommodating, loved the extra amenities offered, great offerings for same day baggage transfer, baby stroller available for rent, washing machine in the room, pajamas, slippers available at front desk, coffee/teas as well. Very welcoming and considerate with guests. I would definitely stay in Kyoto Mimaru again compared to Osaka Mimaru shinshaibashi East, not even close to Kyoto’s hospitality

Great apartment, close to everything in that area.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom family Apartment. Hotel was central; a few minutes walk to train station, cafes and shopping mall. The room was a great size for Japan and the kids were comfortable and enjoyed the bunk beds. Conveniently set up with washer, drier, fridge and air purifier.

We stayed here for a few nights and spent one night in the Pokémon-themed room — our kids absolutely loved it! The room was really nice, and they even provided complimentary Pokémon-themed bags, which was a fun surprise. The laundry facilities worked great, although as expected with typical Japanese washer/dryer units, it took about 2–3 hours to wash and dry depending on the load size. The hotel is in a great location, very walkable to the train station, and overall very family-friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

We had the pokeman room with one bunk bed and 2 twin beds. It is fully equipped with a dining and kitchen area. I enjoyed how spacious it is. By far, the heated toilet is my favourite. Can’t get this in the US.

This property was perfect for my family of four. My kids loved that They got bunk beds. The separate kitchen/dining area was perfect for meals and for my Kids to do their homework. The property and their small attention to detail was excellent, just one example, my wife and I would wake up early and get our stuff ready for the day. We were able to turn on the lights in the kitchen area because where my kids heads would be in their bunk beds was nestled and protected by a wood column that prevented light from entering their faces and waking them up earlier than they needed to. When they are walking so much extra minutes of sleep are so valuable. Highly recommend this property

Wonderful property! Service was top notch, friendly and extremely communicative. They were able to answer all questions, and even reached out about a left behind item and kept in constant communication about said item. The room was a terrific size for our family of 4. I loved that our apartment had a washer and dryer. And the property is conveniently located close to a train station, a conbini and many, many restaurants. It’s also a 10-15 minute walk to Nijo Castle, and a 15 minute walk to Nishiki Market, and 15 minutes to Sanjo-Kai Shotengai shopping arcade. Fantastic stay!

The property was clean & walkable to Karasuma line. ~15-20 min walking distance to Nishiki market & other shopping areas. There is a Family Mart just around the corner of the hotel, which was convenient. What we loved the most about the hotel was their friendly & professional staff, especially Alice. She welcomed us with friendly smile & gave us lots of information about the area & a booklet with things to do in each city in Japan, and patiently answered all our questions. She was awesome & even went beyond her way to find my lost sunglasses from a nearby shopping mall. Thank you so much, Alice!! We would stay there again if we visit Kyoto in the future. Cons: the washer & dryer unit took so long to do a small load of laundry (5shirts). 3.5-4hrs from washing to drying cycle.
