My favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms were spotless, the staff were always very helpful and attentive. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location was perfect for being within walking distance to many shrines and temples as well as downtown. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying here again on the next visit to Kyoto.

I love the interiors of this hotel. A mix of modern and traditional design. It is quiet, you hardly see people around (which I like), yet the staff are there whenever you need them. Our room and the hotel in general is immaculate. This hotel also has an in-house bath and sauna at an additional cost. You can reserve these amenities at the reception. It was a great way to end the day after walking around sightseeing all day.

We had a lovely room in a great location for temples, shines and restaurants. The staff could not be more helpful. We needed to transfer our luggage which the staff organised. Fantastic hotel.

Little Gem in the heart of Gion

Staying at Hotel Gion Ichirin was such a wonderful surprise. The hotel feels modern yet still carries an authentic Kyoto charm. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Gion, yet quiet and peaceful. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, with a spacious bathroom that felt relaxing after a day of exploring. The amenities were some of the most thoughtful we’ve ever seen in a hotel—it really felt like everything was considered. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the lobby was a lovely place to unwind. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations and made our stay in Kyoto truly memorable.
