Fantastic hotel with outstanding staff! They are extremely welcoming, polite and helpful. The onsite amenities are plentiful which include a public bath/onsen to shops to restaurants. Having a 7-11 next to the hotel was also handy. The train and bus stations are right by the hotel which helped a great deal! Thank you once again for a great stay!

This is by far the best hotel that I stayed in Japan after staying with five-star hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. It's clean. People are nice at this property. It's super convenient for restaurants. Seems that they built/collaborate with an entire mall downstairs and you get coupons for spending at the mall, which serve delicious food.

The hotel itself is really nice. They gave us coupons which you can use in the restaurants in the same building. The Kyoto central seafood market is right beside the building, and there is a nice self-guided tour. If you can get up early, you can see people auction off various seafood product which is a fun experience. The only downside is that the hotel is located in an area without a lot restaurants or shops nearby.

The Emion went above and beyond my expectations, everything was so neat and tidy; the hotel overall was just exquisite! Coming from a stressful train ride it was the perfect place to wind down. Next time I’m in Kyoto I’ll most definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a great trip in Kyoto!

Easily the best hotel we've stayed at in Japan thus far. Rooms are spacious, new and high quality. The walkway to JR makes travel super easy and bus stops are only a short walk away.

Very clean hotel and across the street from a subway station. Only thing I can knock them for is the washer/dryer machines they have on site. They are coin op and the additional drying functions are only by 30 min increments. Did 2.5 hours worth of drying for my small load of clothes but still damp so I gave up. Gave up and threw my clothes in the luggage anyway.

Not that great

I booked this hotel six months ago looking at the reviews but didn’t find it anything like that. Room was quiet expensive and too small. City view was nothing more than a car park view. Room and corridors smell badly. Seemed like room had not been cleaned from long time as there was dust on the side table and the phone. The toilet seat wasn’t cleaned too. When reported to reception, the lady named Uno didn’t pay any attention. I searched online and was getting bigger room cheaper than what I had booked but she didn’t budged to help with upgrade or cancellation. Please be careful as the hotel has policy of 80% fee if there are any issues which I wasn’t aware of. The only thing good was the breakfast and the convenient location as hotel is just 3min from station.
