The staff was excellent and extremely kind. The room was perfect for a single traveler and price was great.

My stay at Montenegro Lodge wasn’t without its challenges, albeit very minor ones. On the first day we discovered that the door didn’t lock, so we had limited security. The internet was intermittent at times, and the hot water was not sufficient to fill and use the hot tub. However, where this property fell short, the staff were there to pick things up. I cannot commend them highly enough for their hospitality and kindness throughout our stay. The hotel is missing a few things before it can truly be recognised as five‑star. Staff, location, location, CATS

I am writing this to offer a serious counter-perspective to the positive reviews here. While the location in the Old Town is central, do not assume this guarantees a professional or comfortable experience. Our stay was defined by unprovoked aggression from the host and a lack of basic utilities. 1. Unacceptable Host Conduct: The property’s reputation relies on 'host helpfulness,' but our experience was the opposite. Upon arrival, we encountered a jammed main door—a significant access and safety concern. When I called the host ('D') to resolve this, instead of assistance, I was yelled at and berated over the phone. Being shouted at by a proprietor while stranded at check-in is professionally inexcusable. It set a distressing tone for the entire trip. 2. Micromanagement of Utilities: Do not expect a comfortable long shower here. Hot water availability was severely limited. What makes this worse is the host’s controlling attitude toward the amenities; we were explicitly instructed not to touch the water heating geyser and forced to leave it on 'Eco mode.' You are effectively paying for a cold shower so the host can save a few cents on electricity. 3. Non-Functional WiFi: If you need to work, check emails, or plan your itinerary, look elsewhere. The WiFi signal was dismal and practically unusable throughout our stay. In 2025, reliable internet is a basic requirement, not a luxury. The issue was thick stone walls but surely there are WiFi boosters out there ?

It was a nice and spacious room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast was very good.

We had a very pleasant stay, even managed to take a plunge in the pool despite being a tad chilly. We were also given a chance to pick a room for us, which was much appreciated
