This is a wonderful historic hotel that has been beautifully modernized. Our room was spacious with inspired decor. The staff was exceptionally kind, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved our stay at the Walper. The breakfast is no longer free, but it's very good. As was dinner at the hotel's TWH. Pricey, but what restaurant isn't these days?

Very pleasant staff. Clean & quiet room, aside from the noisy ventilation fan right outside our window with adjoining stadium arc lights. Hot water to shower took a full 5 minutes to reach useful temperature. While the location is convenient, the down side of any urban core these days is the street inhabitants. It’s a definite social issue everywhere but does detract from a safe feeling after hours…won’t rebook here because of this.

The room was clean and the staff were kind and friendly but: I stayed one night and the hotel issued an invoice in the amount of $225.19 for one night accommodation and parking but my visa credit card was charged $548.40 + $51.98 =$600.38 which is $375.19 over withdraw. Our the shower and the sink in our bathroom featured separate controls for hot and cold water. While the sink's controls worked easily, those in the shower did not. It was very difficult to adjust the water temperature to a comfortable level.

This hotel stay was just okay. It felt like the hotel needed a bit of a refresh. I couldn’t control the temperature in my room. I was cold and I asked the front desk to warm it but nothing changed. The one cafe was closed for breakfast. And I didn’t love that you didn’t need a card to access the elevator floors. Especially since the area is close to a lot of sketchiness. The staff was very friendly and it was clean. Gym was nice. Overall though, I wouldn’t return.

The hotel reminds me of artsy hotels in Europe. It is extremely clean, comfortable and stylish. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to help. The only issue is parking - reserve your spot ahead of your visit if you want 1 of the 7 spots allocated behind the hotel.
