Location
Kirk Wynd Cottage is within walking distance of Kirriemuir town centre, renowned for its traditional red sandstone houses and charming cobbled streets. Kirriemuir is perhaps most famous as the birthplace of Peter Pan author J. M. Barrie, and AC/DC frontman Bon Scott, both commemorated with statues in the town.
Known as the “Gateway to the Glens”, Kirriemuir is an excellent base for exploring the wider Angus region. A short drive takes you to the beautiful Angus Glens where you can enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, and wildlife spotting, or challenge yourself by climbing one of the nearby Munros.
If coastal scenery is more your style, the beautiful east coast beaches of Broughty Ferry and Lunan Bay are also within easy reach. Kirriemuir itself is home to a scenic 18-hole golf course with views north towards Glen Clova and Glen Doll.
With the A90 dual carriageway only ten minutes away, the cottage also provides convenient access to several world-famous championship golf courses including Montrose Golf Links, Carnoustie Golf Links, The Old Course at St Andrews, and Gleneagles.
Please note: although there is a sofa bed in the living room, the maximum occupancy for the cottage is four guests. The sofa bed is intended only for situations where two guests prefer not to share a bedroom.
