Summary:
Welcome to The Charles. This house just underwent a major renovation in early 2021 including all new bathrooms, kitchen appliances, paint, flooring and lighting.  It is absolutely gorgeous and inviting and the perfect place to call your home away from home!

The Space:
This unique home on the west edge of the Country Club Plaza, was designed by the late Kansas City artist Dixie Glenn and built by her husband Charles. They used to enjoy sitting on the side deck of the house every late afternoon having a glass of wine and watching all of the people come and go from The Plaza. Fortunately this house has ample parking in the driveway and the 2 car garage because parking is a premium in this area due to how close it is to all of the shops.

The spacious two-story great room is the focal point of the home. The great room features many windows, and a smart TV. A home office area is on one side of the great room, making it perfect to work away from home. The office walks out to a patio overlooking a fishpond and private backyard. Also overlooking the pond is the main floor bedroom with its king size bed and full bathroom. Included is a washer and dryer.

The beautiful full-size kitchen is stocked with dishes and appliances if you should choose to make your own meals. The kitchen utilizes a turn of the century soda fountain counter and stools re-purposed from a drug store from Holton, Kansas. Spend your late afternoon sipping your favorite beverage on the east deck and watch passersby walk their dogs to the dog park just 3 blocks west of the home.

The Studio Bedroom on the second floor has two queen beds and another other upstairs bedroom has a king bed, both with their own Smart TV's and full bathrooms. High speed internet Wi-Fi is available at no additional charge.

Enjoy our game room, which has an air hockey table and it's own 55" Smart TV and bar top.

The home is a great get away for family and friends or can accommodate a busy business traveling party who wants to be within easy walking distance of the vibrant night life of the Country Club Plaza.

Guest Access:
Guest are able to use the entire first and second floors of the house, in addition to the exterior driveway, backyard space and game room.

The Neighborhood:
Designed in 1922, the Country Club Plaza was built as the country's first suburban shopping district. Stroll through it's endless options of stores, restaurants and nightlife. Make sure to stop along the way to admire the art & architecture. Numerous fountains, sculptures and murals make the Plaza a true outdoor art gallery.

This house is one of the closest private residences to the Country Club Plaza.  The location is unbeatable!

Our home is also in close proximity to Westport, Midtown, Downtown and the RiverMarket.

Getting Around:
If you opt to not bring a car, RideShare and taxi options are plentiful and easily available. KC Metro bus line also has a nearby stop.

Other Things to Note:
House Rules:
-No smoking of any kind in the house, including vaping.
-Parties/events/loud noise are not allowed. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am.
-Only guests that are on the reservation are permitted on the premises.
-Illegal activity is prohibited to include, but not limited to, drug activity, prostitution and illegal possession of firearms.
-No weapons or firearms of any kind are allowed.
-We only allow pets with responsible pet owners. Pet owners are expected to pick up after their pet, not allow excessive barking. Any pet damage would be the responsibility of the pet owner.
-KC Stay may employ the use of video surveillance on the exterior of the home and/or noise detecting technology inside the premises to detect excessive noise levels. There is a camera on the front door, back door, driveway and backyard.
-While there is a fireplace in the home, for liability reasons, it is not for guest use.
