Room was clean and the evening was quiet. Decor is dated and very poor lighting in the room. Tissues would have been appreciated. Breakfast was a lovely surprise with a good range of tasty options.

The motel is in a bad neighbourhood with homeless people all around, the room itself was nothing like the pictures. The bedsheets were stained and dirty, the room has moody walls and bugs. It’s smelled of smoke. We were charged by both Expedia and the hotel, and ended up not even staying the night because the room was too disgusting. Pictures do not reflect the state of This property, do not stay here.

We didn’t like the when they take a deposit it takes 3-5 business days to get the refund. Also the breakfast is over at 9am and check out was 10am they texted at 8 am to ask when we were going to leave… we arrived close to 11:30pm

Not what I expected from a Howard Johnson.

The location was good, and the beds were comfortable, that’s about all the good I can say. The room needed a proper cleaning. The high touch surfaces, light switches, walls nears door handles, etc. had not been cleaned in some time. Who’s idea it was to put the kitchen as part of the bathroom needs to start explaining themselves. If we had not arrived late in the evening I would have move elsewhere.

Disappointing Stay – Not as Advertised The room was nothing like the pictures — it was outdated, unclean, and had a strong, unpleasant odor. I felt unsafe as there was a homeless person lingering around. I requested a refund before checking in, but the staff refused, stating it wasn’t possible. Unfortunately, it was already around 10 p.m. when I arrived back from Jasper and I was too exhausted to look for an alternative. The property felt much older and more run-down than what was shown online. I didn’t even feel comfortable enough to have breakfast there. On top of everything, they charged a $150 deposit that was never mentioned in the listing or during booking. Overall, very disappointing experience — I would not recommend staying here.

I have stayed at this property many times. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable. I leave 5 stars for what it is. No, not super high end etc but as an example, I left my truck in the parking lot loaded with my bed and numerous other household items. They were safe! Thanks to Howard Johnson for my stay!!
