I just came back from Sumiya Hotel, and while it certainly has some appealing features, my experience left much to be desired.
First and foremost, the check-in and check-out processes were frustrating. With only two desks available and a limited number of staff, we faced long waits on both occasions.
The hotel offers a concierge service through Whatsapp, which seemed like a great idea, but I was disappointed to find it unresponsive when I needed assistance with arranging a taxi. We sought help from the front desk on three different occasions, requesting taxis at specific times, but each time, we ended up waiting over 30 minutes. This lack of reliable transportation support really hindered our plans.
Additionally, our dining experience at one of the hotel restaurants fell short. Service was lacking, and unfortunately, my daughter and niece never received their meals at all, which was quite disappointing.
On a positive note, the hotel rooms were quite comfortable. The beds were super soft, and I appreciated the quick room service whenever we needed it.
Overall, while Sumiya Hotel has potential with its cozy accommodations and beautiful gardens, significant improvements are needed in service and responsiveness to create a more enjoyable experience for guests.
