I hope this helps a traveler who is looking for a combination of value, style and a feeling of being pampered. This condo does not provide that. I've traveled to Amelia Island twice before and stayed at The Amelia Surf and Racquet Club once before. Despite returning to one of our favorite beaches, this condo was disappointing. We chose to stay here because of penthouse ocean views which were spectacular, yet the condo itself appears neglected and is in need of TLC. It feels like a rental unit with cheap and not up-to-date decor. The kitchen dishware, silverware & pots are old, the plastic cups are mismatched, the linens are thin and the rugs desperately need to be replaced. The condo smelled musty upon arrival and continued to smell musty despite us keeping both sliding doors cracked open during our entire stay. A latch on one of the sliding doors doesn't work and we weren't able to lock it during our stay (which didn't feel unsafe since the condo is on the 7th floor). The moldy grout in the shower needs to be replaced and the entire condo needs a fresh paint job. Even the magazines on the table were a decade old. Upon our arrival, we had 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, 1 thread-bare washcloth & 1 beach towel. The bright spot was the responsiveness of the service team who delivered a bag of newer towels the next day. The unit was quiet and convenient to trash chute next to elevator. Keep looking for a condo that is updated! You'll get the beach views!
