A two-story top-floor penthouse on one of the best stretches of beach in Wild Dunes, 415B Shipwatch wraps three bedrooms, three full baths, and three private balconies around some of the widest Atlantic views the resort has to offer. The balconies catch it all — open ocean, the dunes and pool deck below, and the fairways of the Links Golf Course on the back side, where the late-afternoon light tends to linger.
Inside, the main level reads coastal-modern without leaning on cliché — white shaker cabinets, stainless appliances, and granite counters in the kitchen, light wood floors, and a showstopper of a dining table: a custom blue resin piece that looks like a cross-section of breaking ocean waves, seating six and stealing every dinner photo someone takes here. The living room opens directly to the oceanfront balcony, with comfortable seating arranged to keep the view as the centerpiece. A queen ensuite tucks off this level for a quieter retreat.
A staircase leads up to the second floor of the penthouse, where the primary suite faces the Atlantic — wake up to the view, fall asleep to the surf — with the distinctive Shipwatch bath layout: a large double vanity room just off the bedroom and a separate shower room adjacent. A second king bedroom with its own ensuite shares the upper level. Heavy curtains throughout keep late mornings late if the tide isn't pulling you out early. Flat-screen TVs in every bedroom.
Beyond the front door, Shipwatch delivers on the resort side: an oceanfront saltwater pool ringed in travertine tile and loungers, a separate baby pool, and a substantial on-site playground built for kids who need to burn off the post-beach energy (pool pass required May through September, included with stay). The wider Wild Dunes resort surrounds it all — two Tom Fazio-designed golf courses (book directly with the resort), a four-season climate, and the kind of geography that works for nearly any group: family beach week, golf trip, or girls' weekend.
When the beach isn't calling, downtown Charleston sits about 20 minutes away — historic streets, culinary walking tours, the South Carolina Aquarium, and museums for the rare rainy day. Closer in, the Isle of Palms marina, local seafood spots, and the Sullivan's Island lighthouse are all within an easy drive, and The Windjammer — a longstanding local music venue — sits just outside the resort gates.

- Please note that Early Check-In (ECI) and Late Check-Out (LCO) services are not available from May to September.
- Guests must supply their own beach/pool towels.
- Beach chairs/toys are not included at this property. All reservations between 4-28 nights come with a $250 beach gear credit with VaykGear. Guests will be able to reserve gear after booking.
- From May-September, guests will need a pool pass for Shipwatch pool access. (Not needed off-season.) The pools are open year round but are not heated.
- Unfortunately, pets and ESAs are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed animals are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Fireplaces are not for guest use.
- Golf carts are not allowed at this complex.
- Trailers and motorcycles are not allowed inside Wild Dunes.
- Guests have access to the Shipwatch pool, and to the cafes and restaurants at Wild Dunes. Any other amenities or recreation at Wild Dunes, including golf, tennis or the spa, must be booked separately.
- Please note that due to natural coastal conditions, beach areas may experience periodic erosion that can affect shoreline size and accessibility. During periods of high tide, portions of the beach—or the entire beach—may be temporarily inaccessible. We are not able to guarantee identical beach conditions for future stays, and refunds or relocations will not be available due to these natural changes.
- While we do our best to communicate any known work within Wild Dunes or nearby beach projects, many homes are privately owned and we are not always notified of surrounding activity. As a result, we are unable to guarantee a disruption-free environment or offer relocation for any unforeseen construction.
