While the hotel itself is gorgeous and the cleaning staff were friendly and efficient thats about where the good qualities of this hotel start and end. The food was decent if you don’t mind waiting over an hour for the actual food to arrive while also being the only people in the restaurant. The pool was nice, if you don’t mind the broken chairs. The AC was broken when we moved into our room, blowing air but it was not cold so the room was perpetually at 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. We complained about it 3 separate times on the first day of our stay but after being told we didn’t know how to work the AC remote and one of the kitchen guys coming up to look at it and doing nothing because he didn’t know how to fix it we gave up and just dealt with it. The housekeepers must have noticed the temperature at some point because an actual maintenance guy showed up 4 days into our stay but was a bit creepy. He didnt knock he just looked into the window OF A ROOM FILLED WITH WOMEN and didn’t knock until I caught him standing there. Not okay. He came in and completely broke the AC to where it was showing an error message and wasn’t blowing at all. The front desk lady who was cordial enough to me was extremely rude to my companion. You would think after all of the grief we went through with the AC and being creeped on they would comp our lunch but all they gave us was a $30 USD voucher. Too little too late. Check out was an absolute disaster. Gorgeous but not worth the grief.

Beautiful, perfect, honestly best hotel, staff, all was perfect. We preferred walking all the way downtown to have more restaurant options and access a more warm and clean area of the beach but the location was still perfect. It’s a fun 30 minutes walk to the downtown area or a 5-10min taxi ride.

The property is lovely and the staff is excellent. Daniel and Betty are both personable, and helpful. Casa HX is a lovely and unique property with an interesting layout. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable. It lives up to the pictures on the website. Some minor repair work was needed in places, but these are smalls details. Commuting to and from the hotel was a small issue due to the distance from downtown. To counter this, local taxis have a transparent rate structure which is affordable. We also walked the distance (25 minutes) without feeling unsafe day or night. I would suggest that you bring a flashlight.

Horrible experience. I booked this hotel specifically as they advertised a jacuzzi room. When we arrived the jaccuzi would not heat and only had cold water, and it leaked all over. When we told the front desk of the issue they sent the handyman to resolve the issue. Hey told me the prior guests had an issue as well. The part was ordered to fix it, but it was not expected for at least 50 days. I would not have stayed here knowing that. I was forced to pack up everything and move to another hotel across the island that had this feature as I wanted to use the jacuzzi on my trip. My issue is that the hotel knows there is a problem and still advertises this room. The hotel is not ideally located - its a bit off the beach and somewhat secluded. Originally the staff was great until they learned I was leaving. Then attitudes changed. My review would have been slightly different if they staff was a bit more friendly when they caused an inconvenience and were not helpful or even kind about correcting their false advertising and mistake. I would recommend a different hotel

We booked here because of all the wonderful reviews. This was suppose to be our honeymoon vacation. It was a literal nightmare.. when we got here, no taxi wanted to take us to our hotel because of the location and how flooded it was. Which I understand but our hotel never informed us of this situation and as a business point of view that’s was wrong. Also once we finally arrived there was no electricity or water. We decided to stick it out due to us not being able to do anything about it. When we woke up the next day we went and asked for a taxi to come. They stated no taxi would come due to flooding. We decided it wasn’t much of a walk so we walked all the way from our hotel to the center and back for 3 days. I have literal blisters all over my feet from how terrible it was but it was the only way to go and get snacks or drinks. And no matter where you go it’s flooded. The hot water went out while my husband had shampoo on his head and didn’t come back until 20-30 minutes later. Also I asked for our money back for the last two days since there was literally no way we could stay one more day in this and they replied with Hello Esmeralda, unfortunately your stay coincided with one of the worst storms we have had in Holbox for more than 6 years, it was national news, we are very sorry for this situation, and we hope to be able to welcome you.. Just know if there’s any chance of rain at all taxis will absolutely not come this way and more than likely everything will be flooded.

Few things—this hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and everything is inaccessible without taking a taxi, which ends up pretty expensive. Second, we paid quiet a bit of a premium for the room with the hot tub but here's the kicker.... their rooms don't get hot water for more than a few minutes. That means that you can't fill up the hot tub with hot water... The lack of hot water was called into attention of the staff multiple times but they refused to do anything about it. In fact, they just told me "nobody else has complained about hot water". The receptionist was also useless ; we asked for recommendations about several things and she didn't seem to know anything.This hotel is a waste of money and you should avoid it at all costs.
