I prepaid for my son's room in advance through Expedia. He was staying one night waking up very early, 3am, to climb the Zugspitze. Upon checking out at the desk the hotel said they had no record of my expedia payment. My son showed them the receipt I sent him but they wouldn't honor it and made him pay with his credit card. We have now been charged double and the hotel is refusing to refund my son even though we have proof of both payments. Expedia is also having trouble getting an answer from the hotel.

After travelling 11hrs arrived at hotel to be told they don’t have luggage trollies, no help was offered- lift down to the tunnel, incline walk through tunnel, lift up, short walk then four flights of steps arrived at our room to repeat this journey again to get the rest of our luggage- NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!! No tea or Coffee in room as mentioned on website, had to pay for it in the restaurant …Lovely setting, breakfast very good, room needed a new carpet. Onsite facilities were good but no information in room regarding opening times e.g turned up at the gym to find it closed.

We loved our stay. It had a feel of better times, with kids playing together in a safe space, plenty of space for adults to hang nearby with good food and drinks. I loved the room which was very clean and had a retro style. So much space too! Don’t forget to pack your bathing suits. We didn’t and we’re disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy the indoor pool. The dinner buffet, and breakfast buffet were both very good.

Super views from the apartment. Very relaxing living room. Comfortable beds. Very tasty breakfast and dinner. Beautiful dining area, you feel like you're eating in the woods. Great swimming pool. Perfect base for your hikes.

Absolutely beautiful property, located in a perfect location for the local hikes such as Partnach Gorge. The accommodations were nice and cozy, sure they lack those modern details like your standard modern corporate hotel but its character and makes you feel at home. Staff were super friendly, even when I struggled to speak the German from my translation app, they were very patient with me. The breakfast buffet top notch, plenty of food and variety, its something I will miss when traveling to my next destination in Germany. I would stay here again the next time I visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Superb stay

We were so impressed with the staff's helpfulness, friendliness and accommodating attitude - we actually wished we had booked a longer stay. Then there is the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel that was outstanding, plus the loads of amenities we didn't even get to sample due to our enjoying the slopes in Garmish so much. And we also revelled in the Amazing food + beer and wine. All in all, we felt like royalty staying at our winter palace :)

The property is lovely, and the food was amazing. We had breakfast on our reservation but they suggested that we added half board and dinner would be included as well, for 36 euros extra, per person, for a buffet. It was well worthy. Although the room was a bit far from the reception, we walk underground through a tunnel under the hotel, so it was not hard. Perhaps if you have heavy luggage it could be, due to some steps along the way, but the hotel was really nice and the 2 rooms spacious.

If you like to hike, this is the place to be! It's a less than 10-minute walk to the Olympic Stadium and Gorge. There is a fabulous little cafe within the stadium and ski lifts. We dined at the restaurant in the hotel the first evening. It was rather expensive for 2 adults/3 kids, however, the buffet selection was AMAZING! We will definitely stay again!

This is a sprawling complex that is tucked away from the main part of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but still accessible via car, taxi, bus, or even just a nice walk. We had a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony. This was plenty of room two parents and two adult children (though they did have to sleep in bunk beds which was throwback to childhood memories). I also enjoyed the free taijiquan class in the adjacent training facility. We plan to stay again.

The family suite is large with 2 bathrooms. Great space! The pool is fun. The property is a bit older but well maintained. The Biergarten is lovely. It has activities for kids too.
