This was a 1-night stay for work. The car park was not free (£10). I was in room 157 which was spacious as was the ensuite - lovely large bath towels. TV was okay as was the WiFi. On arrival in the room the remote for TV was not working, went to reception to report and within 10 minutes maintenance was knocking at my door, repairing the issue. I asked for decaf tea and coffee in room, only decaf coffee provided. Bed was comfortable.
I ate in the hotel restaurant and it took a while to get served (to order food and drinks). It took another while for food to arrive (the restaurant was not busy - about 12 people) and I had to ask for the drink I had ordered with my food, when my food arrived - service in the restaurant was poor.
The hotel is undergoing renovation at the moment but lifts are still accessible.
The toiletries are finished, no tissue paper no Soap in the bathing area, the bottles were empty. They value their policies more than customer services so be aware once you booked with them you are trapped.
The hotel was a building site, there was a smell of burning in the restaurant, this made me uneasy and I checked my escape route on my way to my room.
The restaurant lacked ambience, due to presence of building materials and partitions, very disappointed.
Staff were great but property is tired and in between conversation to holiday inn. Also not clean, blood staines on sheets, made the mistake of looking under the bed, etc
Hotel going through maintenance but quality of rooms and needing and washroom were poor, regardless of maintenance. Only stayed at this hotel as it was close to venue.
I don’t normally leave reviews but the beds were so awful! My 4 year old son even said he couldn’t sleep in his bed because it was ‘bumpy’ the springs were sticking out!
