We had no complimentary water and had to ask 3 times b4 eventually getting some. No teaspoons in the tea/coffee tray. No bin liner in the bathroom bin once it was taken the 1st day.

Beautiful features but needs an update
An historic building with beautiful original features but showing quite a few signs of needing an update eg stained staircarpets do not give a good first impression.
Our en-suite bedroom was large with original beams, big TV, coffee machine, tea -making facility with bottled water provided. The double bed was very comfortable and clean. On the top floor it was hot but there were two fans provided.
The bathroom was large but had few surfaces, the basin tap was loose and the shower screen seal needed replacing. Towels were fresh and clean and there were the usual free toiletries, but no toilet brush! The shower worked very well.
Breakfast was very good with a large choice of Continental and hot food., and included in the price.
We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which had a range of usual pub fayre, and was tasty and good value.
Staff were friendly but parking on site was difficult because of wedding parties.
This hotel and its nearby sister hotel are our go-to for stays in Amersham, of which we've had many. Good breakfasts (sometimes offered in one or the other hotel) and a variety of room types plus on-site parking.
Really lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated and super clean. Loved the cute quirky design too! Plenty of parking in secure area. We were able to check in 30 mins early when we arrived. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Well situated for us to take a tube on Metropolitan line into the West End (1 hour journey) from Amersham station (a 20 minute walk away) and avoid paying any hefty train fees of congestion charge.

Guests at a wedding.
We arrived close to check in opening time. The person checking us in seemed preoccupied with resolving other issues. We were then sent in wrong direction to our room.
Being kept awake till 11.30pm by customers from the bar and being woken up at 5.45 am by an extremely loud refuse collection noisily wheeling the bins along the cobbles. Horrendous noise to be woken by.
